HELP:Sprint TP2 touchflo3d

I dont know to explain the issues that I am haveing very well but pls bear with me. Saturday I cut my phone on and it tried to begin activation. It would give me some error and go into some sort of loop. I figured if I hit cancel that it would stop and allow me to go to some sort of normal state. But it would not pull up my touchflo3d . If I wanted to txt I had to use the shortcut thru the keyboard. When I tried to txt it would freeze up. I tried a reset by removing the cover and hitting the red reset button. That didnt appear to do anything. I eventually gave up once I figured how to just get the phone to make basic call.

After a few hours, I received a call and the phone appeared to be back to normal, so I was happy again. Now today the same thing happened again.
I am not sure what caused this to happened. I did install 2 games and a rom for the 1% battery indicator. The only other thing I have done lately was switch the phone to CDMA only to try to conserve battery, not sure it did anything.

Please HELP.
I just want a normal functioning phone. I have been afraid to install all the custom stuff you smart guys post b/c I dont want to brick the phone and I am not that savy to do lots of fancy stuff.

Not sure if the Android ROM is stable but I am growing tired of WM alltogether.

Re: HELP:Sprint TP2 touchflo3d

I would suggest a hard reset. Sounds like a recent install might have corrupted/conflicted with something else.

You could try uninstalling programs one by one, but by that point I think a hard reset is your best option. Once its reset and you have all your contacts re-entered, I would then suggest backing up your phone with a back-up program ( I use Resco back up).

After that, take some care to monitor your phone how it acts after each new install. you might find the culprit that way and if it starts to crash again, you can use your saved back up to get your phone back to a state you can work with it.

Is there some sort virus scan for the phone so u can scan b4 u install ROMS?
BTW, I am in the process of uninstalling all the prgs that are not stock, but it just hangs for minutes and then appears to have removed the prg

Not that I know of, but then again I'm not sure if there are Windows Mobile Viruses.

This might sound harsh, but if your new to this I'm inclined to say that the problem is probably operator error and software retrieved from questionable sources. That said, you might not be installing what you think are.

Only install software you trust and make sure to follow the steps as specified. WM is a fairly powerful environment but it demands a greater understanding of how the system works if you want to tweak and get the most out of it. Take it slow and steady and you should have no issue. I hope this helps!

No.

I'm suggesting a hard reset.

http://www.mobiledeployments.com/how...tc-touch-pro2/

This will reset your phone to the original factory condition. Your phone will be wiped clean and reinstalled with the original settings and software it came with out of the box. You will lose any and all data installed by you. This includes any programs, tweaks, contacts, and files you have installed or put in.

Proceed at your own risk.

Re: HELP:Sprint TP2 touchflo3d

Back up your phone with Microsoft myphone, it will back up your contacts, texts, etc. After that, you can do the clear storage, it's the same as a hard reset and will bring you back to stock. Just google microsoft myphone and follow the instructions, that will help you backup your contacts, or heres a link. http://sn1-p1.myphone.microsoft.com/...t.po?mkt=en-US

Phone is not stable enough to install anything. I though I heard there is a way to save contacts to the SIM card.

kaspersky has a wm virus scan...it slows down the phone a little bit...also gives you the opportunity to black/whitelist any numbers that call or text you... i used it for a bit but didnt buy after free trial..heres the link http://www.kaspersky.com/mobile_downloads

You can dump your pim.vol file from the root of your windows folder into your sd card and then replace it on the root of the windows folder again after you hard reset.

Use total commander and copy it from the /windows folder and paste it into the sd card, the root or into a folder of the sd card. Then hard reset. If you don't have total commander you can try it with the stock file explorer but I don't know if it will do that, but you can try it.

Re: HELP:Sprint TP2 touchflo3d

Yes, was able to get it back to normal, just lost all txt and emails.
Can sync with laptop when I get home to retrieve contacts.

Is the Android ROM very stable, or which is the best WM6.5 that functions close to normal? Normal being, I still have all the functions that a STOCK ROM has, just runs better.

Re: HELP:Sprint TP2 touchflo3d

I wouldn't bother with Android full time right now, get yourself a good ROM and play around with android, but it's not ready for f/t use. As far as ROM's, take a glance at MR. X's 2.1 or 2.5, both are rock solid and stable, as are Mal's 6.5 or 6.5.3 and Mighty's 2.1. I'm running Mr. X's 2.5 and there's not a bug to be found, but any of those are stable for every day use.

Edit: did you not back anything up? If not, make sure you back up your contacts as soon as they're reloaded. If you use any of the ROM's I note, I believe they all have MS Myphone built in, it's a great app to back up your info.

if you want an easy on your storage card backup program for messages, contacts, tasks,etc... use PIM backup.. here it is.. its an .exe so make a folder on your sdcard unrar it there and click on it. make sure you make the path for saving so u can find it easy...then when youre done with the hard reset click on the .exe again and find the backup u just did...and blammo youre done.. messages and all restored.. if you have alot of messages you backup just soft reset after its done, it can sometimes slow down the phone for a sec...

I was gonna post that earlier, but the phone was so borked he said he couldn't load anything on to it. I used to use that also, but found that if I loaded someones phone number I had to remember to backup at that time and with Myphone is does it for me every night.

its an exe so it doesnt need to be loaded like a normal program... ya ive f'd myself a couple times after excitedly flashed a new rom on the go, only to realize that i didnt do the bu first and lost a couple numbers off the call history that ive needed...lol... maybe i should give myphone a second shot.

I didn't like Myphone at first, but it actually works pretty decent, but I'm also never too far from my last PIM backup. I always have it on my sd and I do tend to keep one backup on there ( can only trust MS just sooo much). Another good thing about Myphone is you can go in and archive texts if you want to keep them but not keep them on the phone and yuo can modify items on your computer and load them onto the phone, i.e. duplicates, etc.

Learn sashimi, it's not dependent on the chef to build anything into the ROM. XDA is nice and I have my XDA folder set up, but it needs to be built into the ROM and some chefs don't like mortscript so you won't have XDA in there.
