OZ Messaging for TP2 - Solved

I had an issue with OZ Messaging, as it is not included in many custom roms.

I noticed that many others on this forum and on others also had an issue. I saw various solutions, none of which worked. This solution works, however is not the most convienent.

Step 1: Backup anything you need...
Step 2: Flash the stock rom back.
Step 3: Log in to your IM Messaging then close the app.
Step 4: Open File Explorer, then copy & Paste /Program Files/Instant Messaging/ (the entire directory) to your SD Card.
Step 5: Flash the custom rom of your choice. (I chose MightyRom War this time)
Step 6: Copy and paste the Instant Messaging Directory to the Program Files directory if you choose. It appears that it will run from the SD Card as well....
Step 7: If you choose, you can create a shortcut in any location you choose, I chose the "internet" folder in MightyRoms start menu.

uuuhhh, i just installed a OEM cab. works fine on EVERY rom i flash. and its uninstallable. ull run into trouble when the app attempts to read from the registry since all u have is the installation directory files.

my method did not work, or the CAB did not work?

My mehtod works, I just did it...I tried EVERY cab I could find, and none of those worked...

I guess I forgot to mention, that when i re-installed the MightyRom, i did NOT install via the cab, i ONLY copied and pasted.

Not a problem...I thought I would give it a try, after a test of "Sprint Lovers Rom 3.2.10," which I did not like...

I tried every .cab I could find, and found that they all give that MD5 Digest error... everyone recommends the Raphael cab...but I don't think the touch pro 2 is a Raphael device?

I know it is a pain, which is why I mentioned that it is not the most convenient, however is working.

I wonder if one were to copy and paste it to an SD card, then zip it, or stick the SD card into another TP2 if it would still work. I wonder if it creates a hash or something for the device it was first run on?

I am sure that it is one of the files in that directory that is what makes it work.

Guys guys guys, why are you going through all this work to install the old version?

The one from the Tmobile HD2 has Gtalk! Works great on my TP2.
