Charging TP2 and listening to music via headphone jack
 

I went to a long car trip and I was unable to charge the TP2 and listen to the TP2 via the headphone jack at the same time.

Does anyone know of any fixes/tweaks so I can charge the TP2 and listen to music at the same time?

Why can't you charge and listen?

I know for myself, if I have the charger plug inserted into the phone while it's connected to my FM transmitter via the 3.5 jack, there is an annoying whining noise through the car speakers; I have to unplug the charger to listen to the music without getting a migraine. Is that the same problem you're having, or something else?

I have never had that problem. I drove from Vegas to Santa Ana, CA with the charger and headphone jack plugged it using GPS the whole way - My battery stayed charged the whole time.

I have noticed that some USB connectors kind of SUCK, and some audio cables will press on the usb cable connector, make sure the orange light turns on when you connect the usb cable (to indicate charging) then connect the audio cable and see if it turns off, if so wiggle the connectors to see if it comes back on.

i use the tp1 dongle, no problems here. i don't use the 3.5mm jack at all because of reports of the jack not working correctly.

So no one else has the whining/buzzing noise with the charger and headphone jack at the same time? Hmm...must be my transmitter, which wouldn't be a big surprise.

I had the whining buzzing with the adapter on my TP1. I don't use an FM transmitter though I have a line in on my deck.

i have a 300 watt amp hooked up to some sony 6x9's, and the very 1st thing i did was put in a noise filter. no humming of the engine or whining!

I have an fm transmitter (3.5mm jack) and charger (mini-usb) plugged in nearly every time I get in my truck...it charges & plays simultaneously just fine...every once in a blue moon I'll get a hint of whining/buzzing, but my other *toys* are pre-1972 automobiles so I'm kinda used to it.

I tried using a dongle as well as just plugging the car charger into the TP2 and a cassette adapter into the 3.5mm jack.

The TP2 will not play with headphones or through any adapters while the TP2 is charging.

I'm running Sprint's stock rom. I'm thinking about upgrading to win mobile 6.5 this weekend and hopefully that will solve it.
