Battery life improvement tweaks/cabs

Can you post what tweaks or cabs you are using that improve your battery life? I have searched and tried a couple things that didn't really work. I'm jealous of you guys who get 24+ hours battery life! I want to try everything possible before getting a new battery.

Re: Battery life improvement tweaks/cabs

The biggest improvement I experienced was after adjusting the data setting. No cabs. Nothing really speecial, just:

-Turn off push internet pages
-Set my main e-mail accout to download once an hour, and the others for once a day
-Set weather to update at the maximum 30-minute setting
-Set stocks to update only on demand

With just these settings, I swap out batteries each morning before leaving for work at 6:00 AM (so pretty much 24 hrs of moderate use per charge).

Re: Battery life improvement tweaks/cabs

For people with battery problems try this. It's a repost of mine from the TP1 days but works for me on the TP2 also. I've been doing this for a long time now, everytime I flash, and my battery life is always MUCH improved. It has worked for a lot of other people too. If anyone wants more of an explanation I can dig up more of the old posts. But basically the phone constantly polls the phone postion to mute the ring. There is a HD tweak for it but it never seems to change this entry.

Give it a try. I know it used to get cooked into TP1 Roms.

Here is the reg edit:

HKLM\Software\HTC\PHONE\
FaceDownMuteRing (change to 0)

Make sure to soft reset

Also make sure to switch your phone settings to "CDMA only." This setting alone dramatically improved my battery life.

Ok. I did the registry tweak and changed network settings to cdma only. I have a nopushinternet cab installed and update weather and email manually. Anything else I really need to do? I swear I think its the battery.

Re: Battery life improvement tweaks/cabs

Set Auto Brightness off and set brightness as low as you can stand (I run at 30%).

Also find a battery meter and report what you are getting.

You should get under 50ma when all is idle (screen on).

I get 14ma after screen goes off (not always easy to measure though).

Give it a charge cycle or two for the meter to adjust.
