I say that as a SERO customer myself. The plan was discontinued a long time ago, and the simple truth is that you'll have to eventually decide whether you want the latest and greatest phone, or if you want to keep an ultra cheap plan and older or less exciting phone.

Yes, I'd love to keep SERO, but it's basically part of the price of upgrading to a newer phone. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised they allowed the TP2 on SERO.

The question is..which way will wimax go...and from what sprint said they plan on allowing any wimax device on their network..whether thats true or not is yet to be seen.

With all due respect sprintgirl, this is what I was talking about in my post above.

First of all and this always amazes me but then again, in a way it is is almost self-explanatory why those who post, make these posts, but its just amazing how people will look a this and say, oh its only $29.99 a month…what’s $29.99 a month that’s nothing, don’t be such a cheepy.

Well first of all no has the right to determine what is or is not affordable for someone else, an it’s pretty annoying that they think they do and it’s also pretty annoying for those of us that this is a measurable cost have to end up having to pay this just because there are those out there who think that it isn’t much.

I had a really long argument with someone on the Verizon site about this and came to find out that this person was some 25 year kid who barely had another bill in his life, that I then came to find out actually he had this paid for by the company he worked for too anyway, so yeah for him it was nothing.

But if your anything of a responsible adult an understand the concept of a budget and how that a lot of little costs can really add up and have a tremendous amount of other bills to pay each month and kids to feed and put through collage and so forth and so on but that also get how much a device such as the TP2 can be such a useful or even required thing to do your job to even make that money in the first place, then this becomes a whole nother picture.

An also some of us get that this is not $29.99 per month, and that for the two year contract even if you get the device for $90.00 that it is and extra $750.00 cost over two years for something that you don’t even need, and for some, that is not a small number.

But lastly the way I always respond to this is, for anyone that feels that giving away $29.99 a month for something that you don’t need is no big deal then please, feel free to pay it for me as if this is the way you truly feel, then you shouldn't have a problem with that.

A smartphone uses data in the background with many programs that are made to stay connected to data, these are not devices for just web browsing. No matter what you will receive a data bill with a smartphone and the company doesn't want to be crediting the customer and having call volume because you don't understand. Anybody who thinks they should have no data on a smartphone needs to rethink purchasing a smartphone and purchase a netbook.

I honestly don't care. I'm right, the company is right, and you're wrong.

LOL, exactly.

Heck nobody is forcing anybody to buy a phone with a required data connection anyway. If you don't want to pay for data, buy something like my Sons eNv & you'll have your qwerty KB etc & no data charge.........

Since you put it like that then i'm going to explain myself in a little more detail. People purchase smartphones to browse the web at will, receive emails instantly, download and run apps, and lastly to talk and text (otherwise they could just buy any regular phone.) If you only want to check around hotspots then like i said earlier this is in no means what a smartphone is needed for or was even created for. I have an android and i've downloaded about 30 apps, of those 30 apps at least 23 of them use data. You need to realize why and what a smartphone was created for and it should be simple why sprint, att, and verizon require data plans. Correct sprint let winmo phones slide thru because this is a dying os, but wp7 you can gurantee a simply everything plan will be required. There is no way i can force you to understand but you might as well accept it because the companies are making the correct decision. Evaluate if you need a smartphone then decide if its the purchase you want, like someone stated above no one is forcing you to buy the phone.

You do realize that a companies main goal is to make money. You can never trust your sources unless they're an expert in the field and unbiased. No intelectual makes a credible argument quoting a multimillion or billion dollar companies business, because their opinion is biased. The news reporters constantly tell you fallacies and have to retract their statements later when someone points the finger.

correct a companies main goal is to make money and stay in business. if they lose $ then guess what they will close and nobody will then be able to partake of what the company was offering. Sure let them keep losing $ and see how long they stay in business ](*,) Just because the company is making the decision for you doesn't make it a bad one. I'm sorry there is no way you can convince me around this, if you own a smartphone it should be required to have a data plan.
