Question with Dialer
when you open up the dialer you can enter in the text equivalent t9 phone numbers to dial number.
Is there a way to allow a specific category to dial someones number ? say co worker A has an extension on my work phone of 245 and co worker B has extension 246. the way I had it before was I inputed them into my contacts as '245-co worker A' that way whenever I entered 245 to dial it would bring up there name. Apparently this auto dialer only does the first few letters of the contact name. So what I would like to be able to do is have a category where I input there "work extention" so when I dial them with my cell phone I could just press 245 have them pop up WITHOUT having to name the file 245-co worker A. For sorting preferences. I know this is a bit garbled but hopefully someone will know what I am talking about :) |
Re: Question with Dialer
If I understand you correctly, you're looking for a dial recognition based on extension. Is that right?
I haven't seen anything that would make that work, and seeing there's no seperate field for an extension, cabbing it might be a touch challenging. You can dial by name (by pressing the keys that correspond with the name) if that helps any. |
Re: Question with Dialer
close;
I know I can dial by name, alternatively i would like to be able to dial them by extention or whatever category. It does it with FIRST and LAST name, theres gotta be a way to incorperate another category or field. *sorry for spelling late and tired |
