Insurance is sending me a Samsung instead of a TP2?!?!?!
 

So when I spoke with Sprint they told me I would prob receive a new TP2 as they prob don't have any refurbs in stock. Then they transferred me to the insurance place where they said they cant know if it will be new or refurb until after they place the order. Then I receive an email today telling me instead of a TP2 they are sending me a SAMSUNG!!! Doesn't say what type. But what the ****!?!?!?!

My guess is a samsung moment. But why not call and ask instead of posting here. We can't fix your order only you can call and get it fixed.

Cost is an issue here. If you payed 350 for your TP2, don't let them send you a $150 phone without refunding some of your cash as well.

I'd tell them no. You aren't paying for insurance so that you can get a cheap ass phone. That's not how it works. Tell them you want your TP2 or you're calling the BBB.

His profile says TP so I won't feel as sorry if he is one of the people trying to get a free tp2. But you are trying to get a legit replacement then refuse the package. I suggest you immediately call assurion.

I have TheTP2. I used to have the TP, never changed my profile. But I just checked the website and they said its the Samsung M300!!!! Thats a $20 phone!!! WTF!!!!

from your last thread, you got the tp2 as an upgrade for a defective tp, correct? but still, the issue is the cost. even if we go by your old tp phone, the phone they are trying to give you is way less than what you had. call them and tell them you are refusing a downgrade of your phone. if they won't budge, call retentions.

The corportate store should have TP2s in stock, if not hell the repair store can definately get them in quicker. I would go there first (since you've been given the wrong replacement to begin with) and if they cannot honor their own 3 party insurance company's mistake, call sprint form the store and see if there is something that can be done right then and there. Insurance claims are for "better than" or "equal to" your phone, not worse than or bootleg edition!! I did this when I was sent the LG Rumor. They had to call the actual "store manager" and conference him into the call but I left with the TP2 in hand and 2 free months of service. It pays to be persistant, do not take no for an answer.

I think dude was just venting... lol I'd be pissed and tell them what for. I like my HTC devices and I'd make them send me my device or better or I would chew them more *******s then they know what to do with... hahaha...

Just call back and be like "Listen I had a touch pro 2 by HTC I want it replaced with the same or better model by that manufacture if you cannot comply then send me a check for the full retail price of a new unit". If they say anything other than yes, let me see what I can do for you or hold on while I get that taken care of. You inform them that those are the only appropriate responses then ask them if they would like to correct themselves or transfer you to a supervisor.

P.S. I once made HP Fix a friend's computer that was out of warranty and cut him a check for $150 bucks to pay him back for not fixing it right the first time.

I talk respectfully but am very firm I also let them know I am calling on my day off and would be more than happy to talk with them till then end of their shift as I have X360 and 2-5tb of movies and TV to keep me busy. If you let them know you are content to keep them on the phone all day THEY WILL CAVE! Trust me the call center I worked at is the only call center I have ever seen not cave. I got Seagate to replace a drive 2yrs out of warranty and pay shipping both ways with advanced replacement.

Oh one last thing if they stick to their guns let them know (even if you don't) you work in a customer facing technology related field. Say you will go out of you way to advise all your customers against paying for their poor unhelpful theft of a service. That you are going write the Better Business Bureau and write to MaximumPCs watchdog and or other magazines watchdog article.

kick them in their corporate gonads and make them do what you want.

the tp1 is a piece of junk compared to the moment. Yeah it may cost more but that screen is so lackluster, it doesn't respond well compared to tp2, the screen is small, the keyboard sucks. If the assurion is willing to give you a samsung moment take it, you'll be glad you did. if you have a tp2 and they are trying to give you a samsung, tell them to go f themselves.

call them and dont agree to anything but another TP2 - you have all the rights and they CANNOT force you to take another model only a "comparable" one and currently on Sprint there is no comparable to TP2 except for another TP2

But for real, when I took in my TP for replacement (yes, I'm one of THEM), I was offered a TP2, some Blackberry, and the Palm Pre. And personally, if you pay money for and/or originally chose a WinMo phone, you should get a WinMo phone.

It's probably just a mix-up; someone hit the wrong button when placing the order. Hope it works out.

For the haters pissed cuz they paid $$$ for their TP2, don't be. You made a choice to buy it outright, so be happy and feel good about your purchase. More than likely you're one of the many who bought it 2 seconds after it went for sale cuz you were too impatient to wait for deals to pop up. I personally refused to pay such an elevated price (couldn't have afforded it if I wanted to) and would have waited til next fall to get one if need be. If you wanna be mad, blame HTC for making the original TP such a piece of junk it NEEDED to be replaced. As far as I'm concerned, getting it replaced with a TP2 was due reward; I love HTC but the TP1 desperately needed to be retired (then taken out back and shot).

I didn't get my TP2 for free... I paid $350 for the crappy touch pro and after 3 replacements they offered me the TP2 since they couldn't get me a TP that worked without getting overly hot (#1 and #3)... they couldn't get me one that didn't lock up about every 4 hours(#1 and #2)... they couldn't get me one that didn't corrupt the file system requiring a hard reset 3 times in 1 week (#2). I only had the TP for about 6 months because of these problems.

I'm sure he was in the same situation as I was, just like quite a few others here were in that situation. Personally, I liked my TP... if it would've worked. Had I researched the TP before I went to buy it, I probably would've stuck it out with my Mogul for a while longer. Just becasue someone paid $350 for the TP2 doesn't mean us that got it "free" didn't pay $350 for a different phone that was sub par.

I have read the OP post ranting about why he doesn't like his TP2, then they sent him a M300 to for a replacement I just thought it was funny. Like I said earlier a least it comes with HD!!! BTW the post is useless.. Be a man and call the carrier and complain or resolve the issue with them.
