Mobile Tag- A PRODUCT barcode scanner
2 Attachment(s)
Alright guys, just found a sweet barcode scanner- that can scan product barcodes.
Until Shop Savvy comes out w/ theirs, we can use this- verified to work on my TP2 w/ newest Mightrom Impact. One more thing- be sure to turn off the GPS positioning in the menu before you scan otherwise it won't work :D (Since GPS is off, local searches won't work too, must hold in a portrait position, landscape is not supported) Still this is all still fun to play with! Cab attached w/ image of a random product I searched |

Doesn't work as in, it doesn't start up or- doesnt work as in doesn't scan?
Everything works normally on Impact |
Re: Mobile Tag- A PRODUCT barcode scanner
Why do you have to turn GPS off for it to work. You are right, just curious. Is it because it is not for in the US? Thanks!

Re: Mobile Tag- A PRODUCT barcode scanner
hmm you got it to work? it would freeze for me when i tried it a couple weeks ago. Interface is nice and it looks much better than the other alternatives like barcorama or whatever it was called... just couldn't get it to work. Will have to try the gps setting, thanks.

but i cant scan anything either. is there suppose to be a red line or something there to tell you where to line up barcode? i get nothing but a camera shot. nothing happens when i put a barcode in front of it |
Re: Mobile Tag- A PRODUCT barcode scanner
Best situation is that you put it in a well lit spot and that you yourself see a clear barcode on the screen. If you try to do it w/ dim lighting- it isn't gonna work.
I've tried in different parts of the home and found that it had to be nicely lit, otherwise if it's dark, it won't scan When it starts scanning, you actually notice the camera "focusing" on the image, if you have a clear image - let's say you google a barcode with a well lit monitor on a laptop or computer- it should work Try using this one: http://teachers.egfi-k12.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/barcode.gif It was immediate for me Chances are you're in a store when this happens and hopefully this isn't the sketchy store that's dark and all. Otherwise I don't see why you would pull this out in a bar or somewhere dark- this would make the worse pick up line in history "Hey, I can scan that for you" |
Re: Mobile Tag- A PRODUCT barcode scanner
It loads up for me, i select phone, scan image, it asks if i want to allow internet connection to retrieve ... I select yes. and it sits at retrieving data... forever
location is set to e911 only, and am on verizon/upgraded stock rom |

I see what you're doing- you're going into the Phone's settings and not the program's. Open up Mobile Tag, let it load- Go to Menu > Parameters > Localisation <--uncheck that |

Re: Mobile Tag- A PRODUCT barcode scanner
that happens from time to time- it's a server problem on their end. It works though :)

Re: Mobile Tag- A PRODUCT barcode scanner
worked for me. you do have to turn off gps locator in the program's menu, not for your phone. scanned some empty box at work for an ipod docking station and it got results in about 15 seconds. i don't think it likes the focus on the tp2 (too shaky), but it did work for me.
would have been nice to have 2 weeks ago when i got fleeced buying my daughter some rollerskates. paid twice the internet price. |
Re: Mobile Tag- A PRODUCT barcode scanner
Tell me bout it- but this will definitely come in handy when I go buy books for class again. Unbelievable how much school bookstores rip you off

Re: Mobile Tag- A PRODUCT barcode scanner
I used the new 3.07 version and it scans fine, spawns IE fine, but retrieves the wrong things. Worthless....
