I guess it just depends on what you want to do. Or what pages you visit. I get pretty even results with Opera that comes with the phone and with Opera 10 beta...
I like Skyfire for sites that use flash. I don't really use Explorer.
But hopefully you can try out a few browsers and see what works best for you as well as getting some good responses here.

I think the fastest browser that loads desktop pages is...
1) NET FRONT 4.0 browser.
2) skyfire
3) opera mini
4) opera 9.7

Not true.. i use it all the time.. maybe because i instaled the webspeedboost cab.. but it loads full desktop pages in 7 seconds flat..

Opera Mini wouldn't open a lot of the web pages linked in my RSS feeds so i was using skyfire as default. recently running opera mobile 10.3 and that is now my default browser. takes a few seconds to turn on, but once there it works well for me. Good combo of speed and functionality.
Skyfire still gets the porn.

I bounce back and forth between opera mini 5 and opera mobile 10 beta 3. (opera mobile for flash stuffs!) :) +99 on mini!

Same thing I do. I go for Opera Mini if I want to go for speed, but I have Opera 10 beta 3 installed as well for the flash experience, plus to set as a default browser since I don't want IE or Opera 9.7 opening up automatically.

iris by torch mobile is great if you want the nice webkit optimized google stuff...reader, calendar, chat, gmail, docs, all that...

torch mobile is owned by RIM now so no longer available for WM btu you can still find the cab online. last version was 1.1.9
