Htc sense for tp2!?

Now since theres a TOUCH HD2 mini with a smaller processor than the regular HD2 the HTC SENSE sould work much much better on our TOUCH PRO 2's so can someone get that to us A.S.A.P. With the processor being smaller everything should work way faster on our TP2'S and multitasking should be like nothing also messaging loading time in the messaging client should load right up! I just think this version of HTC SENSE should be the best on for our custom roms... So come on dev's, disectors & cookers lets get this going I don't know which version number of HTC SENSE that is but I know it's the one for our phone's processor's.:???:

The mini has the same proc. Just b/c it's smaller doesn't=slower.

It'll be running a 600mhz proc

I thought RAM was also an issue in terms of Sense's speed

hd mini is HVGA if i remember right not WVGA.

besides that were starting to see official topaz/rhodium roms with sense 2.5, so why would you want to deal with a hd mini version that would need to ported to WVGA.

yes it has 600mhc pross and its hvga.
Storage

ROM: 512 MB
RAM: 384 MB
it has better pross than tp2 and more ram. 512 pross and 288 ram on tp2

MightyROM is the way to go. I ran it on my Sprint Touch Pro2, and it runs great with the new Sense 2.5. I moved back to the stock ROM in hopes that the new version of 6.5 that Sprint is releasing will have the new interface.

Sprint and/or HTC will not put sense 2.5 on out the tp2, the only way to get sense 2.5 is to run a custom rom or buy the HD2

How do you know they will not put 2.5 on the TP2? They made no such comment, and even stated they were updating the interface ( to atleast imply we are getting SOMETHING new instead of TF3D ).

i don't know about that. maybe you haven't noticed, since you've been busy with your android, but we have new 2.5 ROMs that were dumped from topaz and rhodium shipped ROMs. they seem to run much better on the tp2 than previous roms. this could be the reason sprint bragged about their upgrade even though it's coming so late. ya never know.

at the same time, it could easily just be marketing speak. we know they'll at least put sense 2.1 with the home screen weather animations, so technically that's new to the average user out there... can you imagine if you never saw sense 2.5 and then all of a sudden had these animations with an updated sense 2.1? it would probably blow your mind all over again. let's hope they have some stuff we haven't seen tho.

I know this for 100% certainty for 2 reasons, 1st tp2 doesn't have enough ram to fully support sense 2.5 with the fluidity its suppose to run. Have you trikes sense 2.5, do you see how slow the music or picture screen rotates, that's because we lack the ram. 2nd if they were going to update sprints tp2 only (which definitely makes no sense) you would have no need to purchase the hd2, which is the phone they want to push right now. The update may be a 6.5.x update, now that's at least possible.

True I only use my nexus because its a superior device, but I still test every build possible on my paperweight tp2.

Re: Htc sense for tp2!?

pics and music rotate just fine now. again, you haven't tried sense 2.5 built for rhodium have you? they don't rotate with the accelerometer, they rotate instantly by sliding the kb out and things have been changed a bit - the effects that made the tp2 lag have been removed. footprints and documents tab has been removed too. sprint may not be putting it out, but it'll be out somewhere...

Going back to my point, the way sense 2.5 is suppose to run shouldn't require sliding keyboard out, that is a rhodium fix because the rhodium doesn't have enough ram or a fast enough processor which is why Sprint or HTC wont create that rom but you'll be able to find it on websites like this one.

what do you mean htc won't create it? it's from a shipped rhodium rom with a different build of sense 2.5.

No it isn't, LOL. No rhodium ships with sense 2.5. Its a tweak that someone at xda created. All the sense 2.5 roms we use come from the hd2, its just that HTC has had many sense updates since the release of the European hd2. Even the latest build is taken from the T-Mobile hd2 which is how we've gotten the updated tabs.

Re: Htc sense for tp2!?

@Slim

Eh - Sprint / HTC have the ability to ship a stable Rhodium based Manila 2.5...

Look at it this way.... Ever played a game for the PC... then played the same game for PS3, then played the same game for Xbox? Same concept. Different systems, same game. Just tweaked to work.

Why you gotta be so negative :-\

i think you've missed a few updates. there's a new build of sense 2.5 and it didn't come from xda or the hd2. it came from asia - from a rhodium rom.

quote from wmexperts "The other big news is that this latest ROM comes from a Chinese Rhodium Shipped ROM. To translate and as we mentioned in the last podcast, this is coming from a Touch Pro 2 ROM that is ready to market. That HTC, they never rest."

Like you said that is a different version then what I expect (I expect it to work the same as the hd2), sliding my keyboard out to get pics and music to rotate is BS, using the screen while the keyboard is open is a pain in the ass. So basically that is a dumbed down version of 2.5. The best part about 2.5 for me us the music player, it directly competes with itouch which is by far the best mp3 player in the world.

I corrected that statement by agreeing that that version is slightly different, as he stated there is no auto rotation in landscape for the music player and that for instance would be a downgrade to the mantilla 2.5 that's on the hd2

Re: Htc sense for tp2!?

with the pricepoint of the touch pro 2..sprint needs to do something to make it more eyecatching than the android..the stock tp2 rom is pathetic..the stock touch pro rom was at least asthetically better in my opinion than the orange TF3D..if it gets sense 2.1 id be happy..although the Sense 2.5 roms ive tried from Mr. X and now Mighty Mike (who finally got it together in this War Rom he released last night), than the 2.1 roms ive tried...so who knows..

But once again you are wrong. The Music tab in that Manila does auto rotate in landscape natively. Personally I tweak my Manila a bit, so that all of Manila ratates in landscape, and then I have to tweak the music and photo tabs, so that they don't rotate 180 degrees instead of just 90.

I just said the rom I built is built off those files and that's the main thing I want from 2.5. Then I said I need to read the changelog.

Since you're on the topic, what settings do you need to make the music and photo tabs have the "fake landscape" mode? I can get them to auto-rotate, but they do not use the 'cover-flow' type that I was used to with leo sense 2.5. Thanks.

Mine doesn't have coverflow in landscape either, unless I disable auto-landscape in the other tabs. I just disable full screen mode in the registry to avoid the double rotation issue in those two tabs.

Hehe, I worked at the Catalyst as the house Lighting Designer for 2 years, and at Palookaville (RIP) for 3 years before that. Any show at the SC Civic, I will most likely be working these days.

I think I've worked nearly every club in the area at least once. I've got over 1000 shows under my belt locally, plus hundreds out of the area.
