I am aware on how to change the left and right soft keys with phm regedit, and have tried to set it to phone, but have no idea what the correct file path should be in order to get the phone dialer to actually open. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

I just checked mine and the reg values for HomeLskArgument, HomeLskPath and HomeLskText are all blank, so I think phone is the default setting. Try erasing whatever you currently have for those reg entries and see if that fixes it.

Re: Left Soft Key

dont know if you know but the file is called cprog in the windows dir which will open the phone dialer

i would think \windows\cprog something to that effect.

just wondering why would you make a softkey for the phone when all you have to do is use the hardware key.

The TP was set up like that and I'm so used to it that everytime I try to make a phone call I have to think of what to hit. Plus I'm tired of the accidental fat fingering of the slider into the camera.

Thanks unknown and insipidmonkey. I tried unknows idea so far and it did not work unless it needs a .exe or .dll or something like that after the cprog

it's cprog.exe
it should work after you add the .exe

i just changed mine to make sure and it worked, so i'm not sure what the problem is. Do you have SecondToday installed? what is your today screen (manila or titanium or spb ms)? what does your left softkey currently do?

Thanks razor for all your help. Im running the stock sprint rom with 6.1 with the typical cabs and reg edits and it wont work. The left soft key is on camera and it does open, but no dice when I set it to phone and save the settings. I can post a full list of installed cabs if you like.

Ok marcopolo78.... here is your answer... I'm am sure it will work for you as I too am running sprint stock 6.1 on tp2.

follow instructions and dont skip...do all 7 steps

1) Install Advance config v3.3
2) open Advance Config and select menu>Mor settings>Key mapping
3) under the Left SoftKey window select Phone
4) under that window type the word Phone
5) under the Right Softkey window also select Phone
6) under that window leave the word Contacts
7) click ok and yes to soft-reset

Enjoy! Your Welcome!!

Re: Left Soft Key

Try using the softkey manager, click diamond mode, browse the shortcuts for "phone"..save changes.. reset.

For the stock sprint rom alot of times you need to change the right softkey which actually controls the left one.. kinda crazy..but thats the stock rom/

The funny thing is that I have tried advance config before and did not work with changing both soft keys, but this time with Salzamani and Apristel direction work perfect. You guys ROCK!! Thank you all so much for your help.
