Phone lights up, but no text message
 

I have a stock TP2 with Sprint, and my phone seems to like to mess up when a text comes in after I have viewed a MMS.

I read this MMS from my buddy, turned the screen off, and a few seconds later, the phone woke up, but nothing showed up as a text.

EVERY TIME, this happens, I KNOW it is a text that was supposed to come in but didn't. I have no idea why the screen would wake letting me know there was a message, but it does. I would never know this if it was in my pocket, but many times I happen to see the screen wake.

Usually it is from my girl, so I ask her to re send the txt. This happened last night and was really frustrating. I sent my cousin a text, my buddy sent a MMS, and I viewed it. My cousin got back to me, but nothing showed up. I asked her to resend, and I had received another MMS, and same thing again.

At any rate, she had to e-mail me cause it was MY PHONE screwing up.

I cant seem to read a MMS, then get a txt right after, or I dont get it. My phone knows its coming in cause the screen wakes, but the notification does nothing, and no text is there.

This can be really frustrating if I have no idea who sent something, cause I just get my screen waking and nothing else.

Many times I just soft reset after I view a MMS, so I dont have that problem. The only thing is that I cant figure out what is causing it, nor if anyone else has had, or seen this issue.

Any tips to try and figure out why it does that? Again no custom ROM, just SPB 3.5.3, and my programs.

Text messages are a bit different from a MMS. When a mms comes it the phones has to download it from the network. If a larger file is being recieved, the phone will download increments untill the message is complete and then you will recieve the notification. Perhaps this is what you are describing.

Well, I see you're on sprint. It's most probably switching to another tower. Take note of the location that it lights up on. I live in NYC and when I drive down Williamsburg bridge, it would turn on specifically at one location and I'd instinctively look down even though I clearly know it's because it jumped to another location

I dont get a message period. The MMS has totally downloaded, and I view it, and go laugh at the fat chick that was sent to me, then like seconds later a text comes in from my girl who is answering me back from a text I sent before that MMS got sent.

The phone wakes and lights up, but no text came from her. In a sense it did, and the phone wakes like it knows it did, but it is not there. No new text is in my inbox, and my text icon doesn't show a 1.

So I tell her... I know you sent something, but nothing came in. Then she sends it again. I know something was sent because of the screen coming on. I stare at it, and wait, and it turns back off after 30 seconds with nothing.
