Re: [7/2/10 PRL 51926m/65144m] Verizon VOICE ONLY NETWORK Popup Modified PRL FIX

I am a Verizon customer now, was previously Alltel. Contrary to most previous alltel customers you do not have to change your rate plan to Verizon. With the exception of the poorly designed KIN. Getting to the point.. Your PRL goes with your rate plan. for that reason I get 40056 by default. Once I upgraded to the 65144m PRL amazing I have perfect coverage. Come to find out in Fayetteville, NC. Alltel customers are not able to access VZW towers still.

I have still been having the same problem. If i use the modified PRl my palringo will not connect. Does anybody have any idea why this would not be working. if i go back to *228 and flash it with verizons unmodified my palringo will connect. I have been trying to figure this out forever

there have been many reports of this. you're not the only one. i haven't seen anyone mention a fix for it though, except to just load a different prl. what prl does your phone have after you do a *228?

I am just the opposite, I am a Verizon customer living in Louisiana where there was no VZW presence until VZW purchased Alltel. There have been many areas where I could not use my phone in the state until i started using the hybrid PRL. I can only assume that VZW has net migrated all of the towers to there network yet but all I can say is that my coverage has vastly improved since I started using the hybrid PRL. Long story shortened, you may wan to try to use the hybrid PRL at see it it has the same effect for you only in reverse.

Never mind, I read the rest of your posting (phone cut off the bottom) and I see that's what your did.

Well that stumps me. There is zero difference between the latest modified PRLs and its official counterparts with the same version number on Verizon "home" SIDs.

If you dial a bad number like 2222 and press send, you should here an error message from the switch with the SID on it. After you dial *228 and palringo works, what is the number the error message gives for your switch. After you do that, dial ##778 (or ##778#) and when prompted, select view. Now click View Info and select PRL. What is the PRL ID?

The palringo issue is due to being an ex altell customer. the alltel prl seems to direct the connection to a gateway that blocks the app from connecting.

This did not work for ex Alltel customer in phoenix. I wound up with a PRL of 00772 instead of 65144.
Any ideas?

What exactly does your screen have on it where it says 00772? Where are you getting that number?

This PRL is edited for the HTC Touch Pro 2. I can't verify/test an Android phone. PRL formats can vary slightly.

On top of that, why do you need this PRL for the Incredible? This is the same as the one you download from *228 except I modified the roaming indicators so it can fix the voice-only network pop-up issue HTC TP2 users have! If it did load correctly on the Incredible, it would provide no benefit!
