Re/start

First off let me just say that I love this site. I have been a lurker since the PPC 6700 days and have learned so much from everyone here.

I have just started using re/start to change the program icons on the phone. The icons change just fine in the actual start menu, but when I add the program as a shortcut on the home screen (running deck's r7 sense 2.5 rom), it shows the old icon.

I have tried looking for a solution to this for a while and cannot find one. I think it might have to do with caching of icons but I might be wrong. Is anyone familiar with this?

Re: Re/start

i used to use re/start 2 until i found CSMI (change start menu icons) found on xda. and its more finger friendly than restart IMO. and i have been able to see the changed icon on the quick links also...

but maybe to answer your question...have you soft reset? it might need it to show change or even delete the quick links you have then change all the icons you want and then add the quick links back then soft reset and i would think that should def. take care of that for you.

but def. check out CSMI!!!

I have the same problem.

I tried CSMI but I couldn't get that to work either, I finally gave up on it.

Re: Re/start

I found the fix over at the CSMI XDA website. Turns out it did have to do with HTC caching. To get the quick link icons to show correctly, you have to go to ApplicationData\HTC\ProgLauncher and delete all the files in there. Change the icons using CSMI and soft-reset. Icons should now show correctly in sense.

Anyone looking for good icons should check out the iReflect icons over at XDA. Good place to start.
