Best ROM in terms of "performance"

I've flashed every build of MightyROM since I've had my TP2. I've been using it since late October last year. I love MightyROM, I have not distinct complaints. The only thing I wish it did better, was multitask. I want to be able to play music w/ windows media player, accept calls, open opera if need be, send text messages w/o lag, etc. Now, I probably wont be doing all that at the exact same time, but I'd like to be able to do a few of those things w/o my phone lagging. At times, I have been listening to music when windows media player is the only running program, I get a text, my music freezes for a few seconds and it takes too long to recover after hearing the text message notification through my headphones. My only really disappointment with MightyROM is it's inability to run multiple tasks without bogging down. At times, my phone acts like my old HTC Titan. The TP2 is a significant hardware upgrade from the Titan and I shouldn't have these issues.

So... What is the absolute best ROM you have used in terms of performance and multitasking?

freeza's bare naked rom for sure!! the fastest Touch Pro 2 rom youll ever run. Though you need to install lots of cabs to get all the features you need. once you get it up and running the exact way u like, its really amazing.

I'm pretty impressed w/ Silence 12 thus far. Only one problem. Where my 3G/EV icon used to be, I have the data connection arrows, with a small x at the bottom. Any ideas? I ran the verizon carrier provisioning.

does anyone have any benchmarks compiled yet that compares roms?

I'm all for MalRom. This thing just flies through everything! Theres a couple of graphical glitches in this (beta) Sense 2.5 build but the original 6.5.3/2.1 build was pretty much perfect for me

Re: Best ROM in terms of "performance"

i've been using silence rom for the past 2 days, and i'm starting to notice some problems with it. it is fast, and i like that. however, the blinking light for notifications doesn't seem to correspond with the way i have it set up. it also does not stop blinking sometimes after a text is marked read. i used to have this problem with my old HTC Titan. also, i can't get my EV/3G icon to come up. I just have the data connection arrows with a little x by them. might be moving on to something new...

I always go back to this ROM. Its perfect for me. I found it to be faster than MM ROM. NO locks up or any thing strange happens. Very good ROM.

Decks Roms are extremely solid and fast. I run them for days and do not need to reset for any reason. His newest r8.5 has been running great.....If you read through his thread you will see good comments throughout......No real complaints in there!

I tried Silences ROM. This is the perfect ROM for sprint TP2's. Such a reliable relief coming off of Mightyrom.

I like the Blackout 6.1 Rom with Sense 2.5 I'ts shockingly fast compared to any 6.5 ROM I've used and I've used a bunch. After using it for a few days, I don't miss anything that was in 6.5.

Re: Best ROM in terms of "performance"

No matter which ROM I try I ALWAYS go back to MIGHTY ROM (currently on RhodiumW_021010 release). Even though his ROMs don't have eye candy, Battery is a BIG concern for me and his ROM appears to be the best that I have tried.

*** These are just my opinions. You should try each and judge for yourself as Im sure we have different tastes. ***

Energy Leo
*PRO: Best Eye Candy ROM
*CON: Poor Battery Life (even with backlight set to Auto)
*CON: Google Maps extremely slow
*CON: Problems with Gmail and Exchange Server
*CON: Opera 10

Mighty ROM
*PRO: Reliable
*PRO: Best Battery Life
*PRO: No junk apps loaded
*CON: Poor Eye Candy

Mighty ROM Impact
*PRO: Good Eye Candy
*CON: Not the best battery life

RSTG 03A
*CON: Loaded with alot of junk
*CON: Poor Battery Life
*CON: Poorly organized

Juicy R8
*Pro: Good Eye Candy
*CON: Not the best battery life

MR.X 2.5
*PRO: Good Eye Candy
*PRO: Reliable
*CON: Poor Battery Life

Re: Best ROM in terms of "performance"

MR was reliable, yet sluggish. Silences ROM is ridiculous faster than Mike's ROM's. It's really a matter of opinion I guess, but Mike has been leaving me with sluggish ROM's where I always find some new glitch/incompatibility with something. I am going to stay off his ROM's until Sprint releases the upgraded ROM and Mike uses it as a base.

Re: Best ROM in terms of "performance"

another silence user here. i had a couple of the led blinker notification do that werid stuff. for example the one time i sent a message and it started blinking. kind of werid. but dont think it has happened again. its quick which i like. battery is good compared to the way i have my email set to "as item arrives" and im roaming half the time since NO signal at school. so battery is good enough for me. and the BIG thing is my "hotmail". ALOT of roms i tried had something wrong with hotmail. either the notifications or just wasnt giving me my email as it arrives. SILENCE was no problem

+1 Silence rom! very good stuff there!

Make you a deal. I will try MalROM if you try Silences ROM. I will flash MalROM later tonight and test it in action during work tommorow. Not sure how much better you can get than Silences ROM tho...

I'll give MalROM a shot tonight. I also want to try Silence since several people are giving it a great review.

Re: Best ROM in terms of "performance"

everybody has their favorite rom that they think is the best, fastest, and most stable rom out there.I personally like the look and options of Sense 2.5 and i think the fastest, most stable and reliable 2.5 rom is Decks SsS R7 21890 rom or his new S3 R8.5 21892 rom.But Sense 2.5 roms are usually a little slower than the Titanium only build roms that have officially released builds cooked into them. The best, fastest, and usually most stable roms are the Titanium only roms with officially released build numbers.Like the 6.5 builds and not the 6.5.X builds.Or u could compromise and try one of the Sense 2.1 builds.Their are so many factors to consider its almost impossible to say which rom is best.A different rom may be almost perfect for one user while a totally different rom might be the best for someone else. Its all in what ur looking for.

Does TTS work with iGo8 on silence rom like it does with Malrom?

Thanks for the info. Looks like MalRom, EnergyRom or stock are the choices if you want to run igo8.

Even with these ROMs, you will still need to rely on the script posted in this forum from time to time. The script does not work well with stock Sprint ROM, but never fails on me on MalROM.

I am using stock Sprint ROM now. You will have to run CleanROM or soft reset to guarantee TTS working. But with many tweaks, now the startup free memory is over 110m! Everything is fast. Next I am going to try SPB MS to replace TouchFLO3D and see how it goes.

I gotta admit, I've been using Silence for a few weeks now, and it's fast, but it has it's share of problems.

Is there such thing as a Windows Mobile 6.1 Sense 2.5 rom for the TP2?

For myself i've been using MR X rom 2.5_02-18-10 version. Ive got picture mail to work and it is really fast and stable. Here a youtube video from DASH that I saw that made me try it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zqrK...feature=autofb . Check it out... Make sure to watch the whole thing. half way through he demonstrates opening as many programs as he can while observing how low the percentage stays and remains without lag.

I really have got nothing out of this thread lol

A few posts made Silence sound great, but a few then made his sound buggy. Just how buggy are we talking about here? Notification blinks get annoying if they are on for no reason, I know that much...
