ROM Security

Hello, I am very new to the modified ROM scene so please excuse this newbie question. I am very interested in upgrading my Sprint HTC TP2 6.1 ROM to one of the modified 6.5 ROMs available on this site. But before doing so, I'd like to know how "safe" are these ROMs?

Specifically, how do we know that these ROMs don't have a trojan/virus that will grab my emails, passwords or personal information and send it to some external site? If the answer is that we simply don't know and that we must trust the "chefs" then I am okay with that answer as well. Just asking, that's all.

Thanks!

I would be careful. I flashed a Mighty Rom when I had my touch pro, then the next time I was speeding I got a ticket.

Then I flashed a Juggalo rom on it and I decided to login to facebook. Later I found out that someone had robbed my entire house! IT JUST WASN'T THERE ANYMORE! I looked and looked but it never turned up. So if you see MR. X tell him I want my ******* house back!

Now I'm on a Hero and I am running a fresh rom, but the milk at my house keeps going bad, so I think he is coming over and changing out my new milk with his old milk!

We must put a stop to these chefs!! They can not be allowed to go around and steal from us. I heard TTG and NRG are trying to steal everyones left socks!! Apparently the dryer ate all of theirs and now they are posing as good roms so people will flash, then BANG you no longer have left socks anymore :(

On a real note, OP, No, they have no reason to steal your info. These are all extremely cool guys who are sharing their work.

Thanks bro hahahaha.

I completely agree! I am broke and if he happened upon my bank account it would probably steal his funds to get me out of the red!
