How to Remove Ringtones showing up in Sprint Music Tab?

I have 2 ringtones that are oddly showing up in my Sprint Music tab.
It is nice to access the songs from the SM tab.
How do I remove the ringtones from the Sprint Music Tab?

My ringtones are located in:
StorageCard/MyDocuments

My songs are located in:
StorageCard/MyDocuments/MyMusic

cut and paste the ring tones in to your windows folder on the main memory. they will not show up the music tab any more if you then delete them from the storage card.(cut should remove them really, but sometimes i acc. hit copy instead of cut.)

Thanks for the directions.
Should all my ringtones & notification tones be on the device windows directory ie off the storage card?
I ask because, only 2 of the rt's are affecting the SM tab.
The rest are residing on the storage card & all are mp3 format.

i just copied a generic ringtone pack i ripped from the original tp on to my card and every one of them showed up on the music tab. so idk. typically i just copy them to the windows folder so they get grouped with all the other ones.

Just remember if you do cut and not copy. You will have to copy the ringtones back to your card if you plan on doing a Hard Reset anytime soon. But that's if you plan on keeping the same ringtones. If you always delete them and get new ones I wouldn't worry about copying them back to the card then.

Guess I remove all the ringtones from StorageCard & move them over to the device & see where that gets me.

u have to mark the folder containing ringtones as hidden under its properties. the music player ignores hidden folders. do this with total commander or resco file explorer.

Works for me, just be sure to set whatever explorer you use to "show" hidden folders/files so you can see them.

this WORKS!!!! PERFECTLY!! Basically, the Tf3D was too good in scanning for the music files & kept finding them & any other mp3's.
So the instructions was to turn off the app that kept scanning for mp3's & deleting the libraries it kept creating.
Once I did that & hid the files, it couldn't see them & only capture what I wanted.

The only thing i would have added to those instructions are to turn off the TF3D before deleting those files in the instructions.

Thanks to every1 who chimed in!!
& Most of all thanks to you grandzu!

The issue now, is how do I get the ringtones - which I desperately got rid off of TF3D - back to where I can assign them.
The notification section doesn't show them as options...since they are hidden now in the ringtones folders.
I rather not have them on device memory but on the SDCard.
Obviously, I want to still keep them off of TF3D!

Yea the player ignores them but apparently so does the phone!
I can't see any of my ring tones so I can't assign.

After trying the above out & not being able to get the hidden ringtones to be used by the notifications & alerts.

I basically fell back on mstevens' post earlier in that thread - that ringtones can only be ignored by the TF3D Music tab when it is in the device memory \Windows\Rings directory:

More WinMob quirks I guess.

On my Touch Pro 2, it also works great to put ringtones in \My Documents\My Ringtones. They don't show up in the music tab but they do show up in Sounds>Advanced>Notifications. I don't have to change any folder or file properties or do any reg edits. It just works. I prefer having them there rather than \Windows\Rings because the \Windows directory isn't accessible to File Explorer in Windows Vista when I've got the phone hooked up by USB and Activesync.

I briefly had something or other working so that ringtones on my Storage Card were not appearing in the Music tab, but after a hard reset I can no longer duplicate that and, as in the post made when I was on a TP1, any ringtones on the storage card get added to the library in the Music tab. Oh, well. I still think ringtones basically belong on the device and that if I need to carry around a huge repository of alternate ringtones it's reasonable to zip them up on the storage card.

I followed up your solution from last year with what FINALLY worked!
