Google Sync error on TP2, please help!
 

Keep in mind that I am using Google Sync for Contacts and Calendar only...no email or tasks.

I have my TP2 configured to sync via ActiveSync to Outlook and I want to also have my phone sync to Google Sync using Exchange. I have no trouble setting this up in ActiveSync on my TP2 and everything transfers and gets sync'd up to Google with no problem.

The problem that I am having is that after some amount of time (hours, days, etc.) I start to get an "Attention Required" message on my handheld in ActiveSync. When I click on it I see the message under the Exchange area that "There has been a change made on your server that requires you to re-synchronize all items on your device" and it has an error code of "0x86000106". This in turn causes ActiveSync via USB to my computer to fail and cause errors too.

I can fix this by deactivating the Google Sync portion of ActiveSync and getting the USB portion happy again, then add back the Google Sync but this probelm keeps eventually coming back.

Any thoughts or suggestions on how to correct this? It happens every time.

I have been using Google Sync for emails for the past few weeks without any issues. Starting yesterday, I have been getting the same error message about a change to the server. Since then, my email hasn't been syncing properly. I thought it was just me.

Mine is fine. I sync Contacts, Email, and Calendar.


No problems whatsoever.

this happened to me today...the solution i figured out was to uncheck them synced items (contact, calendar) in activesync server settings on the tp2...exit out of activesync..then go back in and recheck the items..then finally pressing the Sync button..this will re-sync all items in google and not try to sync just the new ones..

This is what I did and it worked for a short time until I started getting that message again on my TP2. So unfortunately it was not a permanent fix for my situation. I need to find something that works longer than a couple of hours to fix this problem.

This started for me on Feb 10th, when I flashed to MM's new ROM. At first I thought it was a problem with that ROM, so I flashed back to the 2/4 ROM and my sync acted up on that one (it had been working just 2 hours before). Since then I have not been able to get google to sync at all. Works for 15 minutes, or so, after un-checking items, then breaks again.

mine kept breaking for e-mail too i ended up doing an imap for gmail and google sync for contacts and calendar

This issue is all over the Google help forums as well. It doesn't seem to have a real fix nor does Google appear to be addressing this as an actual issue. Whenever anyone puts in what they see as a temporary fix or something that worked for their particular phone, a Google mod will go in and mark that as the best answer and that will be the end of that thread....

seems google is in no hurry - with it's focus on Android - WM is the least of its worries. IMO.

I stopped using gmail sync cause it was unreliable & a battery hog.
But while I was using it, unchecking the sync settings & rechecking worked for intermittently.
