"Wave"=""
"Duration"=dword:00000000

"AvailableOptions"=dword:00000009

Heh - so how would you disable it?

Try this, I would, but I left my headset at home.

Code:

Add this:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{607CDEA2-E44A-4528-A2C3-A7DC6B6D824D}]
"Options"=dword:00000000

Change this:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\NOTIFICATIONMANAGER\{607CDEA2-E44A-4528-A2C3-A7DC6B6D824D}]

To something like this:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\NOTIFICATIONMANAGER\{471CDEA2-E44A-4528-A2C3-A7DC6B6D824D}]

It is set under HKCU\Software\HTC\NOTIFICATIONMANAGER, which is HTC's addon to the standard Shell Notification tool. Don't know why the key isn't there, but an options of 0 means just to show icon. By changing the second key, you should disable the HTC Notification Manager.

If this doesn't work, let me know.

I don't mind the notification manager, just the bluetooth notification. Wouldn't this disable everything in the HTC manager?

No, this should just disable the BT notification that's bothering you. In fact, I just tested Ziggy's fix above and it works just fine

Now if only there was an easy way to change the name of that one key after a flash without having to do it manually each time... ](*,)

If you're using any restore program that uses Dot Fred's Task Manager for import, XDA_UC or Sashimi (with the setting in the ini file set), the you can use the following:

Code:

Add this to a .reg file:
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\NOTIFICATIONMANAGER\{607CDEA2-E44A-4528-A2C3-A7DC6B6D824D}]

Or add this line to one of your provxml files:

<nocharacteristic type="HKCU\Software\HTC\NOTIFICATIONMANAGER\{607CDEA2-E44A-4528-A2C3-A7DC6B6D824D}"  translation="filesystem" />

The only reason for renaming it was for the test, since that works, then deleting the key would also work.

Hey, we all feel like that sometimes, you should have been in my shoes when I started on WinMo mid September. Thank god most of the Microsoft stuff that I've been learning since Windoze 2.0 is at least similar on WinMo.

Hey you guys are great at this!! It worked, although the notification still shows up in the manager, BUT theres no pop up... I can live with that...

Heres a couple more to try and track down...

1). A reg file that keeps my Facebook login info (under the 3rd tab of All People) so all I need to do is "re-link" my contacts with my FB friends. This may be tricky cause when XDA_UC runs, I don't have my contacts restored via WMDC yet.

2). A reg file that stores my MS Phone and MS Marketplace username and password...

3). A reg file that stores the tabs and their sort order and which ones I disabled.

I'm acually almost done thanks to everyone in here!! BIG THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!

Give this thread a try. It takes a little bit of work, but this will allow you find which settings can be backed up in the registry and which ones simply can't:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=107440

There's also a utility called SKTracker (not free) but it tracks every change on your device instead of just registry changes (i.e. also tracks files, dlls, et. al.)
