So, I've been playing around with the new Google Maps 4.0 with Buzz, and it's pretty cool.

You can download it on your phone by going to www.google.com/gmm.

Anyways, I no longer see an option for Satellite view, and Traffic view is now a Layers option.

Can Buzz be used with Widnows Mobile? Clearly this is a Windows Mobile forum but when I checked out the new features on the Google site there is no check for Buzz under the WM column.

i think google maps 4.0 was only for androids, but i'm not 100% positive. I checked the website also and nomaxtech is correct.

Buzz works for WinMo since it is in Google Maps 4.0 which has been out for Windows Mobile since yesterday.

how is the cell triangulation gps on this? if you don't want to actually use the gps built in. the last google map update didn't work that well with cell triangulation, I like the instant gps lock when i open google maps.

Satellite view seems to be a layer option now. Go into the layers and check the coresponding box.


Personally, I don't see any new usefull features in this.

Whatever, I didn't sleep last night, just got off an airplane, and I could have sworn it wasn't there, but it is. With it's teeny tiny font. Stupid location. No go? No chance, I'll keep 4.0.

don't trip off that guy, but yeah i don't see a need for the upgrade either. The first google maps is still giving me better cell triangulation as well.

So it sounds like the only thing that differentiates v 4.0 is the 'Buzz'. Is this like a way to give a status update to friends?

Yea, I read in a Google help page that Buzz can be used to write messages and updates, and you can follow/have followers (sound familiar). But I'm not sure where the following gets done at.

P.S. anyone able to read the 2 glitch buzzes in Antarctica? I installed buzz this morning at 2am, and already there were so many buzzes. The maps are going to get cluttered very very quickly.

Installed it this morning, it seems like the GPS is a bit off, it might be cuz of all the snow but, i feel like the previous version gave a much more accurate read to where my location is, even inside a building.
