choppy mp4 playback

I installed TCPMP Tech1 Enhanced TP1_TP2 Digital Play HD CineVisionScope Version on my stock VZW rom 6.5 TP2. When I try to play mpg or mp4 the playback is really choppy, like one frame every 1 or 2 secods. I used to play all kids of video on my XV6700 with no problem. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

h.264 (mp4) files play best with Album or WMP as those two give full hardware accelleration. CorePlayer & TCPMP unfortunately do not support that.

using coreplayer, works great for standard, h264 does require wmp.. but its working well on my tp2.... is it anybetter after a soft reset?

Soft reset didn't help. Album and wmp says it can't play it but I used album and wmp to play another mp4 video no problem. The problem video was encoded at 720x400, maybe that's the problem. Coreplayer plays it better but it's still a little choppy

Re: choppy mp4 playback

After ripping DVDs to my HD, I use Handbrake to recode them to watch on my TP2. In Handbrake, pick the iPhone preset, then on the Picture tab choose custom cropping and set all cropping to zeros. I've gotten great results boosting the resolution to 640. I tried one video at 720, but haven't done enough experimenting yet to decide if that's a good setting. Handbrake is free and extremely easy to use.

i play all mp4 videos using HTC Album as someone above mentioned with zero issues. I also use Handbrake to encode.

I have a file I am watching right now at 720x304 @ 700 bitrate

Re: choppy mp4 playback

Would handbrake be able to re-encode an MP4 movie at a lower resolution and maybe a lower bitrate?
