...I would actually support the OP if they're talking about a "hackintosh" wannabe for their TP2.

I would actually like to see someone (anyone) really to do that...and put up a video so we can rejoice and be happy about how versatile OUR hardware is...and how cool it is that it can be done.

...honestly, saying that its widely accepted...the iPhone was created for people that didn't know that they "needed, wanted, or 'smart' enough" to own and operate a smartphone. Apple craved out that niche for themselves. Smartphones didn't "catch on" until after the iPhone...and now there's this explosion of devices...especially in the mainstream. So you can't really say its accepted...its more like SOLD.

if I really wanted that O/S on MY phone...i'd cancel my Sprint contract(s) pay an a$$load of money in ETF...and jump ship to the crappiest 3G network among the majors...AND be like everyone else.

oh...BTW...its probably NOT a civic...I think its a Prius :twisted:

i agree with the bashing ... as its a trendy thing to do so i see .... but i always n will stick with my thoughts on this .. if u want an iphone buy 1, if you want the droid, buy 1 .. why buy a tp2 to just try n make it like a dif phone? tweak what ya have .. i do love that these thinggs can be tweaked n appreciate those that bless us with cabs & edits but ppl all jump on each others d*@%s & attack ppl for expressing their opinion .... n in case u guys didnt know, it got spinning hubcaps on it 2!

Well I did expect a bashing, so no surprise there and there were some good arguments made but let me try to address as many of them as I can:

1. I drive a 4x4 Rav4 with no stickers lol
2. "If you like the I-Phone just buy one" I don't like the Iphone persay I believe the hardware of the TP2 is far superior. I didn't choose the TP2 for the OS, I chose it because it was a TP2 that allowed me to modify and change it to my choosing, whether that be booting up with Android to run some unique Android Apps, or any other OS of my choosing. I also prefer the hard keyboard and other features of the TP2 over the Iphone.
3. I would never drop Sprint CDMA coverage for crappy AT&T coverage...
4. For the most part the APPS for WM don't begin to compare to those of Iphone and Android... I have yet to see a Google voice app for WM, and also have yet to see a good Music identification APP (that's free) The closest I can find is Midomi, but the free version doesn't save history between sessions, etc. Iphone and Android have had this for a while now, and most of their apps are FREE!!!
5. No one can argue the synergy that the Iphone OS possesses with it's hardware... It runs smoother, faster, etc on a smaller hardware platform. (I believe higher ups in other carriers have even admitted this)

Bottom line, I would not want to be tied down to an Iphone, but would like the choice of booting it to play with it and run apps.. I LOVE my CDMA coverage and would never go to AT&T.. I bought this phone for versatility, but being stuck solely with WM isn't true versatility in my book.
