777 data error, soft and hard resets don't fix it. help?
 

so i'm on SsS R5 ROM and it's been great the last couple of days... all of a sudden today i got the 777 data error message that occurs sometimes when trying to tether on a stock rom. anyway, a soft reset didn't fix it. i tried a hard reset and even reflashed the rom.

how can i get my data working again? i can make calls and send texts, it's just the data stuff that gives this error. no idea what happened or how to even go about fixing any settings for this. any help would be great! btw, i'm on sprint.

you can try ##DATA# and change active profile to 1

if that doesnt work...flash back to stock and update profile...that always works.

prl stands for - perfered roaming list.....

i dont think that will help with a data issue

i didn't see the usual prl update stuff on this rom, even tho it's geared for sprint...
what's the ##DATA# thing you mentioned? whenever i see ## that usually means to dial it from the keypad... is that what you're talking about?
and good idea with flashing to stock... i'm dling the stock rom now just in case i have to resort to that.

awesome, data is back up with the stock rom.. weird seeing 6.1 and tf3d 2.1 again.

thanks for the reminder about the update profile thing!
one question tho, should i avoid the rom i was using? or is this like a freak occurrence that i shouldnt worry about? it's annoying to have to do the flash dance.

I've seen too many guy's data problem solved by prl update.

Only problem you have is that it will not install on all roms. If you are going to hard reset, give it a try anyways.

thanks will save this in my back pocket in case i run into the problem again... hopefully it will work cause profile update did the trick after reflashing to stock.

give jf's sense ROM a try. i doubt you'll be disappointed. stuff like prl update is there off the flash.
