Sprint Navigation - No Landscape unless keyboard open?

Just noticed my Sprint TP2 won't go into landscape mode while running Sprint Navigation unless the keyboard is open.

Kind of hard to use a mount if the keyboard needs to be open. What up with that?

Is there a registry hack to fix this?

Yeah .. kind of sucks I know. Here is an option though.

Gyrator. You can configure it and it will help. I used for a bit.

Yes gyrator will do the trick :D and will also force other applications to go into landscape mode when you tilt your TP2.

Can you configure to only work with Sprint Navigation?

Are you using the SprintNav app or the MUCH better Telenav App?

Search for the Telenav app. It's WAY better and doesn't cost anything more since the SprintNav app is a custom branded TeleNav app. If you can't find it, PM me.

basilray would you mind telling me what the MAIN differences are between the Sprint Branded Telenav and the non branded Tele Nav? The Sprint Navigation that comes on the stock rom is more up to date then the first Touch Pro and allows for resuming trips which the old one did not. Also I've noticed that the graphics are MUCH nicer then the original Touch Pro Sprint Navigation and is very similar to the graphics found on the Palm Pre.

Ok guys I got the perfect fix for ya. This is one of the first things I do after a flash.

Go into the registry and go to
HKLM/System/GDI/Rotation/HideOreintationUI

Then set the DWORD to "0"

Then go to Start/Settings/Personal/Buttons
and set the Send Key(hold) to <Rotate Screen>

Now when your in ANY app you want to use in landscape just press and hold the send key to rotate the screen.

i use changescreen on my tp2 and it works perfect with sprint nav. very easy to configure! and you can select which programs you don't want to rotate.

The Telenav branded app is designed for higher res screens than what came packaged on the original TP (not entirely sure on the Tp2). It also lets you route by fastest, traffic, and shortest distance. I felt like it locked faster as well.
