FYI-Touch Flo + Too Many Messages = ISSUE

Well,
Finally I figured it out. Just to let you know I used VZW 6.1 and currently on 6.5 Stock ROM. This happened to me on both. I couldn't wake my phone up. You know the whole "I push the top standby/power button thing but it doesn't turn on"? I mean I could touch the red power button and see the big green arrow pointing to the top to press it but it doesn't work.

OK, so we reboot. Well then my phone would load up. As soon as the Clock is shown in TouchFLO. Boom it freezes. the little task manager icon int he upper right corner never shows up. Items in my never show up. The only response I get is the volume going up and down when I press the button and when I push the green phone button it shows the normal calling thing. But it is slow and sluggish. After a while like 5mins, it becomes usuable again. However the icon for the taskmanager and my calendar don't show up. Usually I'm like, "guess I got to hard reset, after I back up what I consider cricital to me."

Not this time. I've tried checking before things I installed and such, but when I would restore my texts, emails and contacts I noticed something was wrong there. SO i would just lose the whole thing. This time I looked at the amount of emails I had. I have a Yahoo account and it is set for last 7 days, minimum message download and well you know. Well when I checked the count of messages it had from the bottom of the Touch Flo email screen it show 1/2542. I was like WHAT?! My bad that I don't move them to archive folders, but I didn't have 2542 messages from the past 7 DAYS! I don't know why it did it. The phone was fine the night before but to wake up and can't get my phone on because of this was crazy.

Solution was to slowly get to the Account settings and Delete it. Well you have to wait a good 10-15mins to delete something like that. It seems as if it freezes but if you reboot it during that time nothing would have been gone. Anyhow, FYI keep your mail box and text messages cleaned up. I mean digitally I'm messy better than physically..lol. As for why it downloaded all them, I don't know why. It shouldn't have. So either it's touch flo, or some date issue with windows mobile, or yahoo's mail server, but i doubt Yahoo because this has happened with my texts.

Just wanting to let others know, if your phone acts up and you have trouble and it is slow after a soft reset, check your messages.

Big wall of text crits readers for massive damage.

Readers leave.

Normally people gotta be told to use sentences, I'm glad to see this isn't one long run on sentence, but paragraphs, please!

WM 6.5 handles large text message threads considerably worse than 6.1, but in neither case should this cause any problems. On my TP on the stock sprint ROM I had maybe 12,000 texts in there (about 6k inbox, 6k sent) and maybe 100-120 e-mails, most with attachments from gmail... I never had problems or slowdowns. Who knows what it really was.

Well I mean, once I removed the account, even without rebooting it, it worked just fine. And I think this acutally happened on my XV6800 as well. It might just be the email and not the texts. Someone want to try?

Got the same issue with large number of emails in one of my yahoo account. Had to remove the account to get back to normal. My other yahoo account is still showing only the last 7 days messages.

Actually *I* think you nailed it:laughing6: Thanks, and thanked. I just experienced this today and set up archive folders to prevent it from happening again ( as badly ). Once I got everything cleaned up, the phone downloaded 3 days of mails, as it was set up to do. So far, so good.

This has been known for a while about Yahoo account's downloading everything. Me I just can't understand why people leave everything in there inbox's. all I can say about that is learn to use FOLDERS, clean out your e-mail and keep your Inbox lean. and there are lots of ways to archive Text messages, do people really need 2000 texts stored on there phone?

Myphone works great for archiving text's.

There is also a program over at XDA to archive your text's to your e-mail.
