anyone else get annoyed with opera
 

does anyone else get annoyed with the way opera loads pages? it looks like the page is done loading you zoom in start reading and bam its loading again takes u to the top of the page or bottom. then you have to find where you were on the page. maybe i expect to do things a little too fast. i just find it very annoying.

That happens to me sometimes as well however for the most part I have found that Opera kicks PIE's booty with the exception of not being able to handle Flash natively. Have you tried installing the latest beta build from Opera? Perhaps it works better then the stock version given to us TP2 users? Goodluck!

I've ditched Opera for Skyfire...well mostly. I still have Opera on the phone...but don't really use it anymore because I find it sluggish and annoyingly unnatural to navigate/zoom. I also think it uses more resources than Skyfire...but have no proof for that one.

i do agree that opera kicks the butt of most browsers out there. i havent used the new opera 10 i plan on it. skyfire in my opinion is cool for video playback but is balls slow. and quite frankly looks like crap.

Skyfire is ok but needs to add tabs, both need better zooming.

i second that on firefox. when they roll that out i think i may dump every other browser like ive done on my pc and mac.

Guys give the Opera 10 beta 2 a try. Its way better IMO then the stock opera that comes with our phone. Everything from zooming, to page rendering, and tabed browsing is 10x better. :) It does still sometimes however do the page loading thing and jump you to the top but is much less then the old version.

heve you tried the new skyfire? imho it looks pretty damn good now that it supports vga res., but then again im coming from using it for years with it looking completely like crap

I mostly stick with Opera Mini. I just hate the checkerboard you get with all the other browsers.

just installed opera 10 and it looks pretty good. it renders the page much better than 9.5 did zoomed im gonna try this out for a while and see how it does

I don't like how 10 uses almost 30 megs of ram. I've no idea where it goes, and it's keeps zooming in and out on accident since they changed double-tap to single tap. Is there any way to revert to double-tap zoom toggle? Also, anyway to make left and right less sensitive so I have some margin of error while scrolling? I hate how on mobile browsers after it's done loading the page when you scroll too fast you have to wait for it to draw the whole page. Why isn't the whole page in ram?

after using it for a few hours today i have the exact same complaints. so it looks like im going to have to wait on mobile firefox

Opera 9.7 is the best opera for our phones till 10 comes out of beta, imo

i wanted to check 9.7 out but every link on it i click takes me to opera 10 page .. i use opera 9.5 & i dont hate it to much .. i dont like how it loads blank, or not totally full pages but idk if thats opera or other issue

opera 10 is pretty annoying after using it for a day. cant minimize it to check messages, not very finger friendly when trying to click links. you have to use the stylus.

9.7 was great but I could not get it to open youtube links in HTC Streaming Media like 9.5 and 10 do, and I could not install 9.7 to it's own directory to have a independent 9.5 and 9.7. I was able to get 9.7 to install over 9.5, but then the favorites integration to SPB Shell broke.

just installed 9.7 looks good so far no real issues right off the bat like 10 had. maybe im just picky about my websurfing. i guess i just want it to be fluid and that may be a little to much to ask. this phone is great it has so many features and does everything else i want great. i just expect browsing the web to be pretty clear and simple compared to alot of the other features of the phone.

i dont know if this is just how opera 9.7 is but the text wrap is always in portrait mode even in landscape all text looks as if i have the keyboard closed and it all on the left half of the screen.

Which exact cab are you using for 9.7 and did it overwrite 9.5 or are both co-existing?

i'm also sticking with opera mini 5 beta 2. i'll use skyfire if i know that i will need flash. otherwise it is too slow for my tastes.

it did not overwrite 9.5 they coexist on my phone.

everytime i try to download mini 5 it says not supported on my device. is there something im missing? something about java not being supported on my device.

I just tried the new Opera 10 beta and I really like the interface and menu's. It seems to load heavy graphics pages better than the previous version. The only thing I did not like was that the slider zoom does not currently work with the beta version. Zoom is limited to only double tap and you have to preset the zoom percent.

Hey guys have u tried UC web? i have made it my default browser taking place of opera it does almost everything i want a browser to do , its fast functional and its not bad looking either give it a try. I also use skyfire for pages that i need to see flash on.
A cab for UCweb can be found in one of the thread but i will also post it if i find it ( too much crap in my computer specially in my downloads folder)

been using opera 10 beta for a while now and like it best of all the choices. i did not care for skyfire, nor having it act as a proxy that I am not sure of the security, etc. at least with RIM on my wife's BB I know its more secure.

back on beta 10, set the zoom setting to 100% and all the weird behavior goes away. but you need decent vision to use it that way.

it does cause odd behavior when sliding the keyboard out though. sometimes it keeps the screen in landscape after closing. a quick open/shut fixes it.
