Taskbar Notification - Black Screen vs. Pop-ups
 

I've somehow changed my taskbar notification.

Before, when I clicked on the taskbar (the bar at the very top of the screen with the icons) it would take me to a new screen that had my connection type at the very top, followed by battery percentage, and if I had any new messages. The screen looked a lot like the volume screen (black with white font).

Now when I click on the taskbar, I get those annoying little bubble pop-ups.

At this point I've installed so much stuff I don't know which of these is the original configuration, although I THINK I've had the black screen notifications from the beginning. That's what I want back.

FYI, I have Zelcadence Topaz Taskbar Notification Manager installed. I've uninstalled and re-installed it, but still get the bubble pop-up notifications whether its installed or not.

Can we get some pics? That would help people to recognize the problem.

From the sound of it, it seems like your Notification Manager has been disabled. If you have a registry editor, make sure HKLM\Services\NOTIFICATIONMANAGER\Flags is set to 0.

check what registry settings that "topaz" thing changed.

do this by...

on your computer, us winrar to extract the files from the cab file. then use something like internet explorer to open the setup.xml file.

read through the xml file, you will see the registry edits the cab is making to your phone!

post those here and someone with a working notifications manager can tell you what their settings are for those registry entries.

This fixed it on my TP2. I have this problem intermittently and a soft reset fixes it, but going into the registry and changing the flag from 0 to 1 doesn't fix it. I wish I knew what sets it to 0.

Thanks all. I figured out that it was the Comm Manager Suite cab that changed my notification. Thanks for the registry edits; I'll make a note of it.

After Installing HTC Wireless router the notifiction area changed to popups, can somebody help me resolve the issue?

I had to uninstall the CommManager Suite cab (the one that puts a internet tether switch on the comunication manager settings tab). I have the HTC wireless router cab installed, but after uninstalling the aforementioned the pop-ups stopped and it went back to the black notification screen.

I ununstalled the HTC wireless router cab, how do I uninstall the CommManager Suite Cab?
