Help: wrong location & battery draining

Woke up this morning, and my Tp2 displayed my location/weather as "Portland", which is probably no less than 2500+ miles northwest of us, and the clock was 2 hours behind (switched to Pacific time). It was fine when I went to bed, but when I woke up something had changed (possibly MyPhone sync overnight?). I found where to change the time zone setting, but couldn't get it to find the correct location, even after a QuickGPS update.

Also, my battery drained in <4 hours this morning, and did nothing but sit in my pocket *locked* nearly all morning as I was busy at work.

Anyone have any ideas? Are these 2 things possibly related??

Another local person said their Tp2 (same carrier, USC) was reading as "portland" all day today as well...so something's up with the tower, I suppose?

anyone have any ideas? my brother's tp2 (same network) just shows "my location" on the home screen, but the weather/time were correct, but he said his has never showed the actual location on the home screen?

i found a post that suggested updating the prl, but the path the user posted to find the "update prl" button is different on my tp2...it's not at settings-all settings-system on my phone...any help?

bumping this to the top, and hoping someone will see it and know of a fix...

my phone is still showing as portland, with portland time/weather, and the battery is only lasting a couple hours...like the gps is constantly trying to find itself?

this is getting terribly annoying! i use this phone for work, so it's gotta work...

ok, my tp2 has the time figured out finally, but the weather is still showing my location as portland? if i click the time, it displays "my location" and now shoes central time...but if i click the weather it shows "portland" weather and can't update if i click "update now"?

Re: Help: wrong location & battery draining

hey, i THINK to update the PRL dial #228 or *228 or maybe it is 288 ???

something like that!

yesterday my tp2 got a little wonky - said My Location (instead of where I was) and the temperature said 81 (it was about 4 degrees out!).
but - i was out of 3G coverage so and as soon as I got back into 3G it updated properly.

When you go into:

Settings > Location

what do you have it set to? I have mine as:

1) on
2) checked
3) unchecked

mine is the exact same, on-checked-off...and i did a prl update yesterda, but it didn't help.

again, i changed nothing, but simply woke up one morning and the phone had changed...

Re: Help: wrong location & battery draining

Just as an update, or in case this might help someone down the road with a similar issue...my phone located me and displayed the correct weather my entire trip to/from Springfield (~140 miles each way), and is working here at work...but when I get home, and am on my home tower (within 1/2 mile of my house), it can't locate me and will display the weather of the last known location (here @ work). When on the weather page, and you hit "update now", it just cycles and cycles and will never connect...?
