Opera 9.7 / 10 + Youtube?
 

In Opera 9.5 if I went to m.youtube.com videos would open in HTC Streaming Media. The links were rtsp:// blah blah.3gp

Now with 9.7 the links are vnd.youtube: and launch youtube.exe however it just launches and doesn't play the video.

I want to either get youtube to use rtsp links again, or make the youtube app launch the video I clicked on, not just open.

Opera 10 in Calkulin's kitchen works exactly as you describe it.

I'm having the same issue after messing around with my opera 9.7 install. Any solution for this?? I want ot open rtsp and not vnd.youtube. Thanks!

have u guys changed your custom user agent?
1) type "opera:config" into your opera address bar
2) select "user prefs"
3) select "custom user agent"
4) enter the following "Opera 9.7 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en) Sprint Touch Pro 2"
(of course you can change that to reflect you opera version\phone)

this solved lots of issues for me like
1) unable to view some desktop version of sites
2) "watch video" link would never show on m.youtube.com
3) unable to input text on some websites
4) many others

find a registry editor and delete these values and keys

Same question what is CIQ? I don't see these entries in my registry.

:occasion5:Thank you so much for this tip. I flashed Sprint Lovers ROM on my TP2, but I could no longer open any clips from m.youtube.com from my Opera Browser v9.7, and this was very annoying.

In my case, I just deleted everything from the field of "Custom User Agent" and left this field blank. Then, I was able to open up mobile YouTube clips from within Opera 9.7. You can also do this via the registry:

Go to [HKLM\SOFTWARE\Opera\Prefs\User Prefs] and modify the following (or create the following string value if it's not there):

“Custom User-Agent”=stringvalue: leave this value blank

Note: Don't include the quotation marks if you want to create the string value.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but the cab below allows YouTube links to open in the HTC YouTube player -- whether Opera 9.7 or Opera 10 is your default. I did not create the cab, but found it on PPCG or XDA.

Works on my stock 6.5 rom.
