I just installed schaps as well. I see where I can close running application but should I fool around with the process. I did a soft rest after install but i see a bunch of running process. I cant imagine all is needed to run on startup. Any thoughts on what must never be turned off to run smoothly before I tinker around?

Seems the developer hasn't been around in over a year:

I've been a bit busy, just checking back on the thread and i see some of you were asking which processes are safe to end without causing any sort of crash or etc..

I myself use Advanced Task Manager simply because of its low memory nature and its track record for not failing me when i was in troube. i.e need to take a phone number down but Opera Mobile is taking 30MB of ram doing who knows what..

Processes Safe to End:
-tmail.exe
-CommManager.exe
-Opera9.exe
-repllog.exe
-poutlook.exe
-VoiceCMD.exe
(can be "killed" as a process but i advise just to go into Start/Settings/Personal/Voice Command/Uncheck)
-manila.exe
(sometimes after turning off Manila the exe remains in the background)

All these turn back on when something that needs them is initiated such as Opera or Comm manager or email etc

Experimental: Try these at your own peril
-connmgr.exe (closes but takes a bit longer than the above;no seen side effects)
