Sprint TP2 - Old cabs + WM6.5?
First, since I'm new here I would like to thank those responsible for posting up the Tethering cabs as well as the many other useful ones around here. I'm new to the smartphone scene so I'm trying to learn the ropes.
My question right now is, if there is a way (can anyone tell me if there is?) to update my Sprint TP2 to WM 6.5, will all of my old cabs still be in place and work properly? If not, would reinstalling them still let them function as they should? My main concern is losing the tether ability. But others would be nice. Is there really any reason to update to 6.5, or is it a waste of time? Thanks ! |

the official sprint 6.5 upgrade isnt out yet, but if it were and you upgraded it would most certainly clear everything off your device. there are ways to auto set instalation of cabs at the first start up though. this may tell you more.(damn. xda is down right now. this will have to work) http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=102144

Thanks loads! I had thought 6.5 was out for all TP2s but I suppose I was mistaken. In any case, good info.

Re: Sprint TP2 - Old cabs + WM6.5?
If you flash to a custom ROM, i.e. MightyMike's, Malatesta's, etc, most are very stable, are 6.5 and almost all if not all, already include tethering that is not trackable via carriers, so if you're holding off for that, fear not. Just read the first page of each chef's threads, paying attention to what is included. Many may already have some of the tweaks or apps that you're currently installing. If not, the threads that Austin linked to above will help you grow with the knowledge of having your phone auto install things you want, or for time being, just load them one by one after you find out which ones you actually now need. Good luck.
