Possible Bad Volume Rocker - should I have it warrantied?

My up volume rocker is creaking upon selection.
It doesn't have the solid snikety snick sound of the lower volume rocker.
It also seems the selection balance between the up & down is not even.

I feel I have to press harder to select up volume than lower volume.
Spoke to HTC customer support & they feel it's probably the pad below the up rocker which is probably loose.

I have had the phone for about 1.5 weeks.
Things tend to fail either sooner rather than later is always my opinion.

Should I get it replaced by Sprint?
Will they provide a new one or a refurb?

Advice appreciated.

TIA

1.5 weeks? Go exchange it. Not even sure why you are asking this. It's a no brainer.

I never had a cell phone fail on me so I am really inexperience as to what ppl do. haha

Does a Sprint online order matter if I exchange it @ a Sprint corporate store?

you can exchange online orders at Corp stores under the 30 day exchange policy. They will give you a new one off the shelf. If you go through the Service and Repair center, youll get a refurb

Yep - it took me 15 minutes to go to a corp store which then told me they dont do this type of exchange & I had to go to a Store with a service area.
So another 25 mins on the road to that type of store.
My new phone was in my hand in less than 10 mins including provisioning by the CSR.
