1. Via USB Cable
2. Bluetooth
3. Wi-Fi
4. Any other ways?

Thanks in advance.

i tried using option one back in November just to see how fast the connection was, and i must admit, it was way faster than my home's comcast cable internet. advantage i saw was that it charged the phone the same time as me getting a connection if ever i needed a connection to check emails.

haven't tried any other way...but would also be interested in the difference speedwise tho.

BT because battery drain is less than wi-fi.

HTC Wifi Router. Works with any Wifi enabled device. An Ipod Touch doesn't have a USB port but will work fine on Wifi using Wifi Router. Most versatile program in my opinion.

Wifi. I get frustrated trying to get my usb-tethering method to work sometimes. Most of the time I just whip out the wifi and call it a day, no bee essin around, works every single time I use it.

wifi is the easiest and best imo, but i've tried all 3 and usb gets faster results.

really? maybe its because of your area? for me wifi gets me better results.
but i have real bad service and when i use wifi i can put it in a spot where i get good service, plug it into the charger and blamo i get wifi :)
thats why wifi is best for me.

Sorry noob tethering wannabe here: Is the only difference between wifi tethering & usb is the cable?

Theoretically you are using the same network right?

I use the WMWifiRouter program, and here is some information...

  • Share your cellular data/internet connection over Wi-Fi
  • Connect any Wi-Fi-enabled device with ad-hoc mode support
  • Supports multiple devices at the same time
  • Easy to use: for most users, getting up and running is a matter of a single click
  • Power saving: works even when the device is suspended!
  • IP, Wi-Fi and cellular configuration built-in
  • 64- and 128-bit WEP encryption support
  • Automatic reconnect on connection loss
  • Compatible with almost all recent Windows Mobile devices
  • Distinction between basic and advanced users
  • Keep-Alive support to prevent automatic disconnects for specific carriers
  • Battery monitoring and management
  • Support for sharing your cellular data connection over Bluetooth and USB
  • Support for sharing your Wi-Fi connection to USB, and vice versa
  • Support for sharing your WiMAX connection to USB and Bluetooth
  • Multi-language support
  • Ability to feed internet to your normal wireless router, with WPA encryption
  • Live traffic statistics
  • Live DHCP statistics
  • Port mapping support
  • DMZ support
