Need to to enable or toggle 1x only mode
 

As the thread title says, I need to enable 1x only on my touch pro 2. I am running 6.1

The old cabs that did it on the diamond and touch pro don't seem to work on the tp 2 because of the different phone menu...

I searched, but have not found the answer anywhere...

Do you have Mortscript installed too? I wouldn't think that it would be any different from a Pro to a Diamond cause if you have the toggle and mortscript installed it should put it in the programs menu. Then you just need to do the regedit to have the mode of operation in your phone/service settings. Hope this helps

Oh crap I don't even know why I was thinking that's what you were talking about. Anyway if you just want to enable 1x just go into your regedit program and go to HKLM/software/OEM/phonesetting/hiddenmodeoperation. and change the 1 to a 0 on hiddenmodeoperationpage THEN it will be an option when you go into your settings/personal/phone/services.

I used to use this regedit before with my TP1 but it no longer works on the TP2 as the O.P. says, ive been looking for a long time for a workaround and i cant seem to find one.

huh strange. i use a cab for it give me a few seconds im plugged in ill up it.

on i attached it. has worked on every rom i have tried on my tp2. both sense ui 2.1 & 2.5.

not sure who to thank . cause idk where i got it. been on my card awhile.

Testing to make sure this is the 1x fix, and not a roaming only fix, will post back in a second.

EDIT, as for OP, not sure if this is what he was looking for, but it is not what Im looking for. It does allow you to pick a roaming only option which works fine on TP2 (energy rom here) What I am looking for, and what I assumed OP was looking for, is something to allow you to use your native network (sprint in my case) but pick either 3g automatic, or 1x. For example in my house Im right on a 3g line, i have 3g with 0 bars of service, sometimes my phone will randoms kick over to 1x (without roaming) and get 3-5 bars. but if I go down my drive way, full service 3g. Im looking for a toggle for this. Basically because I dont always receive phone calls in my house, I can get txt msgs fine, but I dont receive calls, and if i go to dial out, then it switches to 3g.

gives you the option under network for home auto or roam. which would be 1x.

kaos , thats not what we're looking for . roam only doesn't mean 1x. I roam on verizon 3g all the time. this was an option on some TP roms to select hybrid , ev , or 1x. thanks tho

im talking about using vision vs power vision or edge vs 3g, or well idk what verizon calls data, but data vs 3g lol, i just want it to not use 3g if i tell it not to, if i force it to roam, its using a verizon tower, and that will use my mobile minutes vs my any mobile any time minutes, if i was still on the simply everything i wouldnt care, but i dropped down to the everything data 450 with ama. so that would use my anytime minutes if i roamed.

Here is the Registry edit for enabling Hidden Phone Settings "Mode of Operation" option to pick 1X mode only.

HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting

Change the option HiddenModeOperationPage from 1 to 0

Then go to Phone/menu/option/service/and check in the list, "Mode of Operation" should be at the bottom. You have 3 choices, Hybrid, EVDO, and 1X.


but that seems to just give sprint automatic and roaming on my pro 2 so idk. ill keep looking. but i think unless someone makes it your sol.

Already confirmed that no longer works for TP2

I found something interesting a program called advance configuration tool, unfortunately its only for gsm. http://www.touchxperience.com/en/adv...tion-tool.html but what it does is adds a slider to the communications screen in settings, just like you would put the phone in airplane mode, you can turn off 3g that way, unfortunately it doesnt work with cdma. Its designed for att :( but if your an att fan, this does it.

I am looking for option to set 1x only or hybrid like we used to be able to do on touch pro.... I can set roaming vs. home without problem now

yep, join the club, were still looking for it, what would be interesting is to see if this is a WM6.5 thing or a TP2 thing, not sure why the setting would be moved on the device itself, maybe someone with a stock rom could check? Im not bored enough to reflash my phone twice. Altho Im assuming the TP1 with a custom rom works fine with this...

I have a feeling its a tp2 thing. I had a custom rom on my tp1 and I was able to stay on 1x. I tried the cab on my tp2 and its a no go. I can post it if you want give me a few mins

i wonder if the att tp2 can do this? maybe its something in the radio kuz of the dual band cdma version.

there is an app on xda that does this, but it uses mortscript. i cannot find it right now.
wish it worked like it did before.

Thats been posted already, it worked with the tp1 but not tp2. After further research, I have narrowed this problem down to CDMA TP2s, it has something to do with having a gsm radio in it too, because If you look at energyrom's they actually have a switch to turn 3g off in the communications manager. NRG also uses Tmobile. So im not sure what we are looking for is possible with Sprint, VZN, or USCC atm.

this sucks... i need to do the exact opposite... im on stock sprint and only get 1x. im trying to roam and get 3g but its not working :( i can wait til there's some sort of solution for this

So "mode of operation" or 1x or EV forcing.. doesn't exist..? I ask cause I currently in one of those areas.. wanting a fix..

bump lol saw this in the thread a "new" post .. my two sense are , maybe the feature is hidden inside the EPST menu ? i do know for my verizon LG versa (yeah i know totally different phone) but i watched the verizon guy go into my actual programming mennu and with photo graphic memory rememered what he did and did it myself and noticed a radio feature that enabled hybrid Ev or 1x . So maybe the option is in the EPST ?

install the 2 cabs and run forcechoice.msr, loop choice. 1st choice automatic or 2nd choice evdo(3g) or choice 3rd 1x. enjoy. i take no credit, found at xda

I dont know if it were me , but after i installed the cab and ran the scripts my data connection was messed up .. i didnt change anything else but this cab and script , im pretty certain that was the cause . i would have loved for the EvDo only for listening to slacker or on youtube without interuptions from texts or calls , but the signal just switches back to 1x for the text .

what do you mean by data was messed up? doesn't work??

unfortunately there's nothing you can do about the txt interuptions. calls will also still come in if the data is not active. since sms is so small the network will pause the data for the brief second it takes to send the txt.

Yeah like the data doesnt connect , or it will connect then just disconnect randomly while in the browser , or on youtube .. it would show the gray network symbol .. i just reverted back to normal and reflashed . had to try out a new ROM i cooked anywho . just wanted to alert people of my issue .

Actually , i wrote up a script that keeps texts from coming in while being tethered , the only problem is when the script is running it kills the CPU but when your tethered your not really on your phone anyhow . But im working on the same script to use for like when im watching Hulu or something on the phone . im trying to get the script to utilze less CPU .

And as far as calls go , just enable ddtm :)

never had an issue with calls or text "interrupting" while using script, i never got texts or calls while on it. i know this for a fact, wife got upset about it.

uploaded the data fix for sprint only, rename extension to mscr, not my fix was in original thread at xda

you should try windows mobile long life, its set up menu allows for many options like what you are looking for in a Radio Configuration

i just happened to run into this revived thread. I see my old wannabe script flying around. I am by no means a programmer or a script kiddie even. I just found Mortscript to be very simular to qbasic/batch file type of language.

Anyway. The script is ghetto, but it does work. I have uploaded a zip file with everything needed to xda a while back. The script/scripts are the only parts that I wrote. the flightmode program was written by another. My script just utilizes that to reset the data on the tp2 so it reloads the registry edits done by the script without having to reboot the phone.

Just make sure you install the rkflightmode cab to its default location before you run the script. The last thing I uploaded was the "finger friendly" script that just cycles through the automatic(hybrid), evdo only, and 1x only modes in a yes/no scenario.

If you don't want to run the script and you just want to do the correct registry edits (not roaming or hidden mode of operation). Just look in the text file if its in txt or rename to txt if its in mscr format. That will give you the correct location to change the registry key. Then just enable flightmode on your phone and disable you should be just fine.

Note: the small script has no error handling so if it errors it gets caught in a loop. you will need to kill it manually in the process. This is only when forcing evdo and you try to exit it without ever letting your phone reconnect its data.
