Rrrrr, Contact Issues

So, in my infinate wisdom I decided to hard rest my phone and reset my home computer, the same night. Unfortunately I did not put my contacts back on my phone before I reset the computer. So now I'm stuck with no contacts on my phone and none on my computer.

So, after a bunch of head scratching, and bashing my head against the wall because of my stupidity I realized that my contacts are still on my TP1 which is sitting here waiting to be shipped back to Sprint.

Unfortunately, now my contacts on my TP1 will not sync through WMDC. I don't know why, but I suspect it is because my Outlook is still the trial version and now that it has been reinstalled (after trial ended) the features I need to import my contacts is not being enabled.

Any help?

BTW, I did do a search and found a bunch on transfering the contacts. I guess mostly I would like to know if there is a way to get outlook to start working again as I prefer to have my contacts stored that way. If not I guess I will have to live with PIM or having the Sprint store do it.

I use google sync to transfer my contacts. If your touch pro 1 is still active you can simply sync with your google email address and add al your contacts from your phone to that email address. Next get your new phone and just sync from your gmail again.

just use pimbackup on TP and it will save to storage card. then use pimbackup to restore the file to another phone

Thanks for the info on the PIM file! Yeha, next time I'll make sure to not phuck with 2 things at the some time, LOL

Thanks for all the other help guys!

I ended up figuring out what the problem was. For some reason my fresh install of WMDC was set to sync with some non-existant computer. I only found that out after I made a bogus contact in the TP2 and it showed up in Outlook. That made me realize it wasn't an outlook problem but a WMDC problem.

Again, thanks for the help.
