HTC Hotfix not working
 
The Hotfix from HTC that is meant to cure the 2016 problem is not working fo rme. I followed the linkon the mainpage of PPCG, took me to HTC website, downloaded, ran the install, asked me to reboot, and now nothing has changed.

any tips?

Did you put your phone in airplane mode first,install,soft reset and turn airplane mode off? Just asking,been with sprint too long and their trouble shooting techniques are rubbing off on me lol. Did you use the Ziggy fix and what rom are you using?

Used the Hotfix from the homepage, led me to HTC site. Put in plane mode, reset, outof plane mode.
Stock rom.

Won't work for me either. Using Mighty Mike ROM.

I'm not sure if I even need it. I'm on Sprint (USA) and have never used a sim card. I'm still trying to figure out (research) what advantage this is for me and my phone.

the fix was for the sms bug, where the year was 2016, it had nothing to do with the simcard

It fixed all my new text messages, but it didn't fix my old ones. I just deleted my old text messages with 2016. Problem solved.

I think thats what I will have to do. I have info in those that I need though. The HTC site says it will convert all messages........bummer.

Did it on my wifes phone, installed, soft reset, works.

1) HTC's hotfix for the sprint device is meant for stock rom only on 6.1

2) User's who are on Sprint (or any other carrier) who run a custom ROM, do not use the fix from htc\sprint section.

Ziggy has updated the post with the official 6.5 Rilphone.dll that will work on custom ROM's.

Since i'm out of breath, I won't repeat the same, search before creating a thread, although that being said, I think i just did :)
