Sense 2.1 Tab Transitions
 

Okay, so here's my question. I've searched and searched but have found nothing so far. I'm pretty much on here every day and at least know where I should be looking, but still nada...

I had a CAB from my TP1 that removed the shaded transitions when switching from tab to tab in TF3D. I'm looking for the same thing for my TP2. I'm running Mighty's 11310 release with Manila 2.1.1921.

Also I noticed in a Diamond thread someone asking about the tab transitions that HTC removed from manila for the fact that it slowed down the UI. Kind of like a flipping out effect when switching from tab to tab.

As always, any help would be greatly appreciated. Love this place...

NOt sure if it will work, but there is the attached cab for clear transition for 2.5, you could try this and post your results. I have not tried this myself but found it surfing one day.

Yeah I have this one from when I was running WAR but didn't know about trying it on 2.1. I'll do it now and post the results. Thanks.

Confirming that Santod's Clear Transition CAB does NOT work on 2.1.

What we are looking for is when you slide from one tab to the other there is a period where the background is covered with a semi transparent black till you hit/reach the other tab in TF3D. This would give you you clear transitions where you will see the tab logo come up but no semi transparent black.

I searched for a good long time for what you are after. I wanted to delete the curtain and have a transparent slider both for a very clean look.. I ended up finding both of them for Sense 2.1 after a lot of searching. Install them in the order they are attached....

The Transparent Slider was developed by chuckz07 on xda. Head over and give him thanks if you like his work....

^^ LOL. I second that. That looks terrible.

Is there any added fluidity while moving through the tabs if you get rid of the transition screen?

Also, rather than just get rid of the transition screen (the semi-transparent black screen), can we also get rid of the large icons indicating the tab you are on? That would make it look cleaner.

I'm more interested in finding out if the overall speed and fluidity of the Sense UI increases if the above mentioned are removed.

I installed the cabs I posted and this is what mine looks like. Is that what your after? Not sure why it didn't work on your TP2. Maybe try re-installing them? I know you have to do it in that order. The "C07 Basic Trans Slider Icon SenseUI 2.1.cab" was the file I needed to get ride of the white background on the slider square itself.

Thanks man. So he wants the screen to be fully transparent while sliding, instead fo the actual slider being transparent. Thanks for clearing it up. :headbang:

I like it dark myself. Not a fan of the "double exposure" look.

you can do this in mode9, open up your manila directory with m9editor, go to manila.mode9 (its the only file that references black.qtc-black.qtc is the "darkness") just change occurences of it to opacity=0 instead of 80 nd save and recook/make a cab of the saved manila file. I hate it like that though.. as does everyone else it seems..

I notices some of you guys have deleted the top curtain as well (black bar behind the battery/signal meter along the top). Anyone have a cab for that?

HdWalls will work for this indeed, but then it doesnt match up in landscape... at least for me. I would like to know how to fix this.

Thanks to all who replied to this. I do like it without the shading, since I have no curtains and hdwalls installled for my softkeys and taskbar. It looks more fluid though I do admit it looks a bit jumbled at times with the overlaying icons. I'm wondering if anyone has madded the manile/mode9 to do away with the transitioning completely? Like, no icons/shading from one tab to the next? With that and some sort of mod to remove the slider (as well as the slider overlays) my sense ui would be perfect (my opinion obciously). You guys are awesome. Thanks buttons have been smacked!

SO I poseted before I actually looked at the fix that was added. True, I'd love for there to be ZERO slider and ZERO overlapping icons, but I just don't have the know-how. Maybe I'll just stick with the shaded transitions until I can find a way to remove them altogether. I don't see the reason to have a shade and large icon telling you where youre at in the sense ui when you obviously know what tab youve chosen....hmm....

That's good news. I created my wallpaper posted above with HDWalls, but didn't see that option when I created the cab file. I'll have to go back and have another look at it and remake my cab file.

My config in HDWalls looks like this.

WM 6.5 - TouchFLO v2.1 - No Compression - All Tabs

WM 6.5 Taskbar & Softkeybar Skinning

when in HDWalls config pull down the advanced profile editor and theres some more options the only one I have checked is the taskbar & softkeybar skinning. hope this helps.:mrgreen:

would show a screen shot but dont have the software for that yet.. just lazy I guess lol.

That's the same config I have set as well, but I still have the black curtain across the top. ](*,) Not sure what I'm missing. Does it show the curtain transparent in the Wallpaper Creator or only after the cab is installed on the PPC? Thanks for the help!

It shows as transparent in HDWall. In the folder the cab gets made in you should also have 2 new files: HDWall_softkeybar.png and HDWall_taskbar.png
I think I know where your going wrong after you pick your photo and crop and all that when you close the wallpaper editor a window pops up saying something about set output directory just hit no when this comes up and it puts those two files in the same folder with the cab so they get inserted into the cab. Otherwise it puts the two files in the folder you got your picture from. Hope this helps and isnt to hard to understand, I kinda ramble lol!:mrgreen:

Just thought of something else Im also running Pegasus's Pegasus143 Comp_Clr_Tday.cab That could have somethin to do with it. I would post the cab but Im kinda new to the forum thing and dont wanna piss anyone off by uploading there stuff. I Know if I made it I would want the props (thanks), anyway thats the name of the cab Im sure if you search it you'll find it.

Glad you got it working! Just need to figure out a fix for the landscape taskbar and softbar, if it bugs you I guess. It bugs me though lol.
