Newbie TP2 user needs some assistance
 

Hello all,

I just received my Sprint TP2 about 2 weeks ago and while I love the phone there are a few issues with texting that are kinda bugging me.

Firstly, is there any way to stop the screen from turning on after receiving a text message? I don't like using the screen lock and if the phone is in my pocket when a message is received it causes me to hit all kinds of wacky buttons and it aggravates me.

Second, is there any reason why messages sent from me are time stamped, while incoming messages are not?

Lastly, I often times notice that when I send a text message out the phone counts the sent message as a new message. Is there a fix for this?

P.S. I did a search of the forums for about 20 minutes and apologize if these issues have been addressed in a previous thread.

1: Go into sounds and notifications and you can disable the noification for texts or emails that lights up the screen. However unless you are a fan of butt dialing use the lock. You don't have to use the PIN you can use just the screen lock.

2: There are a few threads on this issue. It seems it is a Microsoft problem on the text messaging servers that interperts the date stamp wrong coming to the phone. No official timeframe for a fix but there is a sticky on a work around.

I haven't used touchflo in awhile but I believe under settings then select today you will get a screen for selecting the theme. There should be a tab that references what shows up on the today screen. Under that look for lock. This is just a basic screen lock that disables the screen then you touch unlock and then another button to unlock. This just helps with the calls from your pocket.
