Sense 2.1 Weather animation stops working
 

Ok, I am not sure if this is just me with this problem. I have verizon 6.5 stock rom. Full screen weather animation works then suddenly stops working. At first I thought it was specific apps launched such as bubble breaker that caused it. But now a simple thing, I click start menu to launch htc start menu, click add icon to add new shortcut, add any application. Click start again to return to home screen, click task manager, close the task manager drop down, and weather animations no longer work, until I do reset or reload htc sense.

Can anyone else try this and see if the full screen weather animations stop after doing such things. This isn't the custom wallpaper issue, the animations work then will stop after usage of phone.

Thanks. UGH what a dumb thing, a simple thing as adding a shortcut breaks it. But thanks for confirming, I was ready to reflash the stock rom again to see if it fixes.

Yes...Me too. Was wondering why this was happening and your finding when adding an icon is the first time I was able to confirm what breaks it. Are there any other actions that any others have found that will break it too until a soft reset?

The real problem turned out to be when the all programs list is loaded. When you click to add shortcut, all programs is loaded. So if you go to start then click all programs and back out of it, the weather animation stops working then. I thought it was because of running specific apps before but once I added them as shortcuts and stopped going to "all programs", the weather animation did not mess up.

Now if someone can only find out why all programs messes it up.

I agree with this too. I just went to the "All Programs" then hit "Back" and that broke it. So it must be that simple...just bringing up the all programs list does the number on it until you soft reset.

I posted about this a couple days ago. My impression is that the Opera Mobile 10 beta 2u breaks the weather animation. After uninstalling it, the animations work all the time fo rme.

Any of you guys have the Opera Mobile 10 beta 2u installed?

Try clicking start to get to htc start menu. Click all programs (bottom left) and then click (back). Click start again to close out the start menu. Weather animations will not work until you restart. I don't have opera mobile 10 installed.

I have not loaded Opera 10 (beta) at all. again, just going to the "All Programs" page breaks it until a soft restart.

I can confirm I have the exact same behavior - All Programs = weather animations no longer work.


Anyone have any ideas what is going on ???
