Does Verizon's new WM 6.5 force new apps to reside on main mem?
Does Verizon's new WM 6.5 force new apps to reside on main mem?
It was a big issue with people using Omnia II (see http://forums.verizon.com/t5/PDA-Sma...ry/td-p/129856), and I don't think there has been a solution to this day. TP2 has far more main memory than Omnia II, so this issue may not arise for many people, but since I install quite a few apps, I wanted to know how VZW's stock WM 6.5 works. |

What angers so many Omnia II users, as I understand, is that their WM 6.5 does also prompt you to choose where to install an app but regardless installs the app in the main memory. As a result, their huge 8GB built-in SD memory can only be used to store data - music, photos, docs, etc. - not apps. If that's the case with VZW's stock WM 6.5, there is no way I'm upgrading. |

The only case where you're forced to install to main memory is apps from Marketplace.

Currently, with a number of apps installed, I'm only using about 88 MB out of a total of 252 MB, so I'm not worried about running out of room. |
