You can set your email to Send/Receive every 5 minutes, so I don't know why people even bother with an exchange server unless you are required to use it.

The advantage of having a exchange setup is more than just push e-mail. It also syncs multiple other things, calendars, contacts and so forth. Having it setup on a exchange is like a constant backup of your contact data and calendars. It is a little harder on the battery but having both ends in sync all the time is a pretty good feeling.

Just my 2 cents though.

Push email uses lots of battery :) NO ONE has been able to replicate the incredibly power efficient email capabilities that Blackberries have.

I'm a HUGE WM/PPC/Microsoft fanboy, but I like Blackberries. They're not for me because I love customizing and tweaking.

However, a Blackberry would suit me MUCH better if I were a business man. They have unmatched communication capabilities, low battery consumption, and aren't too difficult to learn.

Of course, the BB Storm is an exception to the rule. It doesn't even deserve to be called a Blackberry.

no worries, its all good. I am just not a fan of BB's at all. The IT company that I last worked for hated them and they where a constant problem with alot of are cleints. we had almost 0 problems with cleints that ran WM phones for exchange and 9 times out of 10 ran without issues vs the BB's.
