Mighty Rom update - text message bug??
 

I updated to the newest Mighty Rom yesterday, and everything is fine, except my text messages and virtual keyboard.

When I receive texts, i get the normal notifications, and the green counter down on my text message tab, but the message is not there. I've only received texts from contacts since the update, and the messages go to the contact text conversation (I hope I explained that well enough).

Also, minor, but when in portrait, my keyboard doesnt default to open automatically when i click on text boxes. hmm...

I hard reset after I flashed. Even again once I discovered these bugs.

Any help?

Are you using the HTC messaging or you disabled it? I know texts in standard wm6.5 will not show up in the HTC messaging so possibly when you are receiving it goes into the standard texts or vice versa.

If you're restoring previous SMS back ups try not restoring and start with clean SMS and see if that helps.

Could you describe each step more? On the "home" page you get the notification and the counter...do you click "all messages" and then nothing is there?

In all messages you can click menu, settings and check your settings. In menu you can also change from "threaded" conversation texts or traditional.

Have you sent yourself a "test" message?

One last question...You said you have only recieved texts since the update...do you mean since you flashed the lastest mighty rom (and which one there are several ie: love, war, etc.)...if this is the case, when you flash a new rom it deletes all previous messages unless you use a back up method such as microsoft myphone before you flash.

I'm struggling with text on mighty rom also. :(
Islide across to the message tab and it says no messges. I go into all messages and I have 3 tests that I have tried to send showing up there, none of them arrived (my wife and to myself)
I changed the carrier provisioning to Sprint after the flash and did the software 1234 hard reset.

In that order? If so, you basically cleared the provisioning.

Should be:

1. Flash
2. Clear Storage/Hard Reset
3. Carrer Provision (after these install the device will soft reset)
4. Install Carrier Specific Cabs (i.e. for mms, 2016, etc.)
5. Restore PIM data

If that's not the case, have you ever flashed to the stock ROM, then to Mighty's?

I unlocked and flashed mighty rom, no other.
I cleared the storage (hard reset) then did the provisioning and then soft reset.

I haven't asses any carrier specific cab for SMS though, is that what I'm missing?

Do you get any error codes, and/or have you tried restoring a backup of your text via PIM, MyPhone, SPB, or other?


If these are plain-jane text message, then I really have no idea what's going on with your TP2, alex. I did a forum search and only found a handful of threads that are even remotely related.

There is an arcsoft cab for Sprint (sans MMS) in the MightyRom thread--best way to find it is using the paperclip on the right hand side of the forum thread listing. But, as I'm not a Sprint customer I'm not sure which arcsoft for you to use; here's a link to the attachments in that thread:

Did text/sms work fine on the Stock ROM?

Edit:

The more I keep reading your initial issue-post the more I'm thinking those 3 test messages never got sent. Plus, the message tab in touchflo/Sense UI only shows recieved and not sent messages. Can you remember if you had full service when you sent those test messages or try to resend a new test with full signal?

On top of that in my changelog in the previous releases, i DID state that I disabled auto sip deploy considering most users use the hardware keyboard to write.
