What should I do With new TP2?
 

Hey guys,

I am getting my new TP2 in the mail on Monday want to know what I should do first? Before you all yell at me, I have searched the forum and I have seen all sorts of stuff about Hard Spl and Roms. There is a lot of information out there and I am just looking for a little push in the right direction to get my device running the best it can. Any help you guys would be willing to provide would be appreciated!!!

Best place to start is the TP2 FAQ stickied in general forum. Read up as much as you possibly can so you feel comfortable in making changes. I wouldnt jump straight into unlocking and flashing roms til you know the terminology used and your way around the device.

Unlock your phone using HSPL, Flash a Custom ROM(Mighty) Hard reset again.
Use your phone

Personally I'd leave it stock for a spell...just so you get the feel for what stock does or doesn't do. That way when you move to custom ROM's you have something to compare them to.

That is such a loaded question and is going to get all kinds of different answers...."each to their own" or so they say. First off MM has numerous ROMs out there at the moment. Do some searching in the TP2 forum as there are numerous threads about this type of question already.

Its not about who's is best. The best part is trying them all and finding out for yourself which one (chef, 6.1 , or 6.5) best suites you. Hope you have a lot of spare time because its like pringles. Once you flash you just cant stop.

Put a screen protector on it and find a nice case lol.

What kind of phone did you have before this?
If it was a tp 1, jump right to flashing as you know what touch flo is all about. If it is your first windows mobile phone, use it for a couple days so you can see what you don't like about it and what you would like to change.
Then start trying new roms.

Shipped ROM is not so bad actually.
Just a little outdated.I think sence ui 2.5 can be installed via cab...
With TF3d and menu enhanchemens there is no big difference between 6.1 and 6.5
Personally I like WM 6.5.3 ,but its a leaked sys versions,so be prepared for minor bugs if you decide to flash...
