Rom w/o Unlocking
I am curious, maybe this is a stupid question I've searched but I am gettin no real answer. I was wonderign is it possible to install a new rom w/o unlocking your phone? I know when I had my mogul and the 6.1 software came out all i had to do was download it and install it. So I wanna know Are there any roms i can just install without unlocking my phone and voiding the warranty? Thanx for any info anyone can give.

Re: Rom w/o Unlocking
Unless it's released by your service provider, then no.

Re: Rom w/o Unlocking
if your phone is not unlocked you can only install roms that are released by your provider.

Re: Rom w/o Unlocking
short answer no, while its theoretically possible someone would have to crack the code needed to make a rom signed properly so the locked spl wouldn't reject it.

Re: Rom w/o Unlocking
The whole point of the unlocker is to allow custom ROMs. You can only install official ROMs from your carrier without unlocking.
The unlocker that requires payment is the SIM unlocker. This unlocker allows you to use SIM cards for other United States GSM carriers. Until you use this unlocker, you cannot use a T-Mobile or AT&T SIM card in your TP2. |
Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.7 (WindowsMobile; PPC; Opera Mobi/35267; U; en; Presto/2.1.1))
basically the unlocker only unlocks the ability to use un-signed roms. Only the official roms are digitally signed. |
