End Key falling off sprint TP 2
After about 3 weeks of heavy use, I noticed that the end key on my new TP 2 is raised on the top and I can see light where the key meets the surrounding area of the phone. The key wiggles alot and seems as if it is going to fall off.
Anyone else having problems with the hard keys ? |
Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2

Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
Is there a date range that is defective?
|
Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
that is what i am trying to find out... i will look at mine and post my date... since i did not notice it..
CHEERS!! |
Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
Mine is:
29-Sept-2009 Hopefully there isn't a defect...I will demand a new device, not a crappy refurbished unit...and they can suck it all they want... |
Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
if it took weeks of use for it to show up, i'd imagine that it's probably something you did on accident... leaned on the phone when it was in your pocket, dropped, etc...
I've had mine since launch and everything is still the same. Don't see why a button would just get raised all of a sudden. With the tp1, the raised button issues were there from the beginning since they went with the awkward one panel for all buttons design. |
Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
I was thinking that also^. No problems with mine. Man. Date 8-21-09

Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
just chedked mine.. solid 11/30/09..

Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
This happened to my 1st one after 2 weeks of owning. Got a replacement and no issue with the buttons on it and I've had it for almost 2 months.

Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
that sux man, sorry for your luck... Hope you get it fixed or replaced free...
|
Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
Yikes...that does suck...If it's a sprint phone Sprint Retail Store with there Tech shop should be able to fix that...as long as you have there Protection plan...atleast the $5 version..Seems the only way that would come up is if something got under it.

Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
For me it's the Start key that is messed up. It's sunken in. I first noticed it had somehow slid onto the Send key (not sure how), then I popped it back into place, now it's sunken in.

reflash back to stock rom definitely.. when you mean relock, do you mean the radio?? do it... when you get your new one, let me know how it goes and what the manuf date is.... i hope it is not a trend for the later build phones... i have onlyhad mine for about 3 days... now i am worried.... did you notice it before was loose already??? |
Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
Sorry about the issues :( I hope a tech can fix it for free.
The TP2's hard buttons have an INCREDIBLY horrible quality. |

i bought my phone NEW then one day maybe over a week later i pressed END and i felt heard loud click noise not the smooth click it makes but plastic to plastic click..like if you droped soda and got sticky good way to put it..SO then i notice i use more pressure to end...and it kinda sank alittle cus when i rub my finger over the row of keys (4) the END is lower..but mine dont look as bad as above!!....if anyone calls or something as how much would they charge to fix it?..i bough mines and flashed it to metro..no warranty! |

I have the same problem but its the end key thats sunken, its still functional but at the same time its more difficult to press. I wonder if this constitutes a problem that sprint would either fix or replace the phone. If I bought the phone online thru callsprint, do I have to go thru them to get a replacement or can I just go with a sprint store? |
Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
Just an update to my original post. I returned the phone to the Sprint store where I bought it and they swapped it for a new one since it was less than thirty days old.

Manufacturers date is 11-27-2009. This one feels solid , but so did the last one until I noticed the loose key. It would kind of go back into place but it wouldn't stay there. If it was backlit, you could see light coming out of the top. Hope this one is solid ! |
Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
i have some light slightly leaking from the top of the end button... but nothing major..
if you look close to the battery cover, do you notice a slight bulge or dent on the right side (opp side of the phone) on the battery cover?? thanks... |

Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
I also have the sunken send key.
BOO B) |
Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
I've gotten another replacement phone for another issue and the send key I'm afraid will end up the same as my first one with the end key. If I press on the right side of the key it sinks in a bit and the other side pops up a little. It's barely noticeable but it's not the same feel as the end key. Gonna cross my fingers and hope itll be ok.

hey craigster and azmode, any of you notice the power or sleep button is not that sturdy it seems like you need to push it pretty far down to get a click?? thanks. |
Re: End Key falling off sprint TP 2
Where do I get my build date if I've upgraded to manila 2.5? I thought that was in device info. And the power button clicks normally on mine.
