Wirelessly posted (XV6875.1 Opera/9.50 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en))

Look, to hard reset, you don't hold the volume down and reset down simultaneously; but you hold 3 buttons down: The volume down, the green call answer button & the red call end button. All at once and hold down for several seconds. Might help to take the back off the phone to ensure you make good contact when you press the volume down button.

TopgunCKD,

The drivers you need should be included in a download of ActiveSync 4.5 (Windows XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (Windows 7). If you are running Windows 7, I seem to recall that allowing Windows to check online for drivers will find it.

Once the PC loads the driver and you connect the phone, the phone will appear to be dead, but is connected in a special diagnostic mode, even though you may not see any outward signs of life from the phone.

Run the correct unlocker (http://rhodiumw.htc-unlocks.com/hard-spl.php) and go from there. Good luck, and read the description of everything you download for your phone carefully - Remember that there are a few different (and incompatible) versions of software for phones that look very similar and are named very similarly.

If this helped, don't forget to hit the 'Thanks' button!

My windows 7 machine was able to find and install the drivers. I'd recommend seeing if you can get the mobile center reinstalled on your PC.

Your PC should be able to find them as well.

As was mentioned, if all else fails... try for a insurance replacement with a snapped screen.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. Tried the green+red+voldown forthree seconds, five seconds, twenty seconds nothing.

Tried plugging my VZW TP2 into a Windows XP 32-bit machine with ActiveSync 4.5 freshly installed, still getting "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" with status "drivers for this device are not installed" in Device Manager. Tried it again on my 7 64-bit machine, no dice. Cannot run any relocker or unlocker or even the stock system upgrade, they all don't find the phone.

It would work if you could install the drivers.

Try going to the device manager on the PC when the phone is plugged in and manually updating the drivers, then once installed, run the corresponding relocker for the unlocker you ran. You are making this more difficult by not concentrating on getting the drivers on the PC.

Whats weird is that you must have had them installed to flash the unlocker. Don't wuss out and give up!

To the original poster, you have been given a lot of advice on how to try and fix your mistake. Don't wast anymore time with this, just go back to the store and get it exchanged for another one.

Sorry I wasn't clear, that's the very first thing I tried. When the phone is working properly, the drivers are automatically installed and detected when you plug in with USB. This is my warranty replacement for a keyboard backlight issue. On my working Touch Pro2 I'm supposed to send back soon the phone is detected and syncs with Windows just fine. On the bricked phone the "Qualcomm CDMA MSM" whatever shows in device manager. I tell it to update the driver on both XP x32 with ActiveSync 4.5 and 7 x64 with Windows Mobile Device Center by automatically searching my computer and Windows Update for the driver but it can't find it.
