moisture sensor
 

Anyone ever try putting a coating of petrolium jelly on the moisture sensors? I would think this would make them a lot less sensitive.

I would NOT try that lol. Sounds like it will probably trigger them. If you really want to protect them, cut out a little rectangle of paper, stick it on a piece of scotch tape, and stick that on there. But BE CAREFUL, i take no responsibility if you f^&* it up by the way.

i thought you could just buy the sticker on ebay?? not that I have, just throwing it out there.

or you can just take if off completely with a tweezer.. When you bring in a phone for service just because your moisture sensor is triggered doesn't mean they won't look into it and see if there is any other corrosion. If there isn't they would still replace for phone for you in store..

I've always just removed mine and never have been hassled for it.

I take good care of my phone and I don't want some stinkin little piece of paper getting damp and implying otherwise. I live in the southeastern USA and moisture is an issue. I have insurance through Verizon so maybe this whole point is moot. The thread about using soapy water to apply the screen protector got me thinking about this, they used a piece of transparent tape with a little piece of papee in the center to seal off the moisture sensors. BTW, how many moisture sensors are there on the TP2 including the battery?

there may be another one on the inside but. I wouldn't know I've never opened my phone up
