SMS to Email address with Leo
 

Has anyone been able to send sms to an email address using Sense 2.5 with any ROM?

I'm on Verizon with TP2.

I'm having problems sending from the phone to email also. But sending from email to SMS/MMS works fine. I'm on Juicy R7.

As long as you know the SMS e-mail gateway for the carrier of the recipient, yes you can. For example sprint is phone number @messaging.sprintpcs.com. So if you want to send an e-mail to the phone number 1234567890, you'd e-mail 1234567890@messaging.sprintpcs.com. Other carriers will have different formats, but as long as you know it you should be able to send an e-mail to the SMS gateway on any carrier.

i tried sending a picture from gmail 15kb and got anerror that said file is too large..??

You can't e-mail a picture to an SMS address. Text only, up to 160 characters.

Why not send email to email, and SMS to SMS? What am I missing here?

1. because you should be able to.
2. Because my phone is free and I have SMS
3. Because my fiance has Gmail push on her phone and texting is disabled. I just went back to 2.1 for now anyway where everything works. I'm sure it will get there eventually.
