Automatically connect to different bluetooth devices?

I've got my TP2 paired with a Jabra BT3030 and a Panasonic Link-to-Cell base station. It would usually connect to the Jabra when I turn it on or the base station when it is in range. I have now also paired it with a Pioneer head unit. Once I did that, if I get in range of either the Pioneer or Panasonic, it will not automatically connect to it. The only way I have found to make it connect it to go into bluetooth on the TP2, select the device I want to connect it to and select update. Once it is connected, it works fine. Is there a way or setting that would allow it to connect to a device it is paired with when it is in range without my intervention every time?

Thanks!!!

Generally you have to activate the selected item on the phone for it to work. Not sure if you can have the item activate when it range of it by default...otherwise everything bluetooth would want to connect at the same time.. I'll look into it and see if I can't find anything.

try setting the discoverable mode to "always visable" in the bluetooth stack. My Pioneer head unit will only automatically connect while in discovery mode.

Re: Automatically connect to different bluetooth devices?

I've got it set to always visible.
Before I added the Pioneer head unit (FH-P800BT) it would usually connect to the Panasonic base whenever I came within range of it. What do you mean by "activate the selected item on the phone for it to work" Chris? How is this done? Only way I have found, and it works fine, is to go into the bluetooth settings and hold down either the Panasonic base or Pioneer hu and select update. It then connects. But I'd like to not have to do this every time I get in the car or get home.
Also, I've noticed that if I go out of range of one of these devices, if I go back in range without having connected to the other device, it will connect automatically, but not if I've connected to the other.
I realize bt is a bit funky on this device. If there is a way to get it to work I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!!!
