Where is the setting?

I was in a home for Christmas yesterday that had no VZW signal. I did not realize this until I reached for my phone and it was totally dead. Isn't there some sort of setting to tell the phone to shut off after so many minutes of no signal? Thanks...

never heard of such a program or setting! u could put ur phone in airplane mode when u know u not going to get any service! But u would have to manually do it using the comm manager!

Re: Where is the setting?

i thought that I had some setting on my old i760 that would turn the phone off after a predetermined period of time if it found no signal. Is it true that this phone will search for signal until it dies? I do get into places where I have no signal. Sometimes I know it sometimes I dont... seems there ought to be a way to tell the phone hey if you do not find signal shutdown and then mybe like come back up every 20 minutes to look for signal... like I said, I was pretty sure I had a setting like this previously...

Re: Where is the setting?

99% of the time when you have no signal your phone is searching for service. When that happens it drains the battery really fast. I'm guessing your phone just died really quick because of that...don't be afraid or worried, as long as your phone still works now then everything should be fine.

there is uhh, this isnt the "correct technical term", battery mode. which stops searching after so long. my touch pro and my touch pro2 does this. this is automated.
